After `years' of chatting and really getting to know Marco, it was wonderful to finally meet. First in Chicago and then in his `LA'. Vince and I had a great time and despite Marco's tooth giving out, he was as usual fantastic.

I wish we had more time together, and definitely look forward to seeing him again, and soon. Lots and lots of HUGS and KISSES.

I met Mark in a CS camping event. He is an interesting and considerate guy. When others are having fun around the camp fire, he just drove out to get more fireworks and beer to ensure that we can have our party as long as we want.

I'm not sure what I can say that hasn't already been said, but I am very happy that I was able to share my labor day weekend with Marco in the middle of the forest. He taught me a great deal about Couch Surfing and was very kind and generous. This guy will stop at NOTHING to have a good time even when he can barely stand! But most importantly, he introduced me to Britney's great new album :D (but don't let anyone know)

I had a great conversation with Marco and it seems I get linked to him quite often from other surfers. It was great meeting and yes I will have to try eating tongue. Hope you can make it to one of our Phoenix events in the future.

My chance meeting with Marco at the L.A. Beach Party is exactly what I love about CS. He's got the greatest spirit and it shows. We have some good friends in common. I'd like to know more!

Sigh.....Marco. My long lost friend. But now you have been found. Marco and I got on immediately (Note: Not on each other, that came later...heheh, came...), and there is nothing else that I could really add to the nonstop references people write for him. It's all true and then some. So I'll keep it short. Just like me. But hopefully not like him ;);). First of all, Marco has helped me through some tough times. Whether it was just to call and talk and understand, or just to chat and shoot the shit. Great friend Always makes time when you need him. He really is not even a surfer. He is like my family. I didn't surf his couch, I stayed with a friend. And friends we will always be. Champion Snoring Person / Champion Host. *PART DEUX*

At the moment I am at Marco in California. In a way I know I don't have to leave this reference at all, we are way beyond couchsurfing, having established a friendship of our own, but I can't help myself. Let me tell you that when you surf with Marco (as if it wasn't clear from ALL the refs underneath me), you will be treated with the upmost hospitality. His place is great and spacious, you get your own room, loads of movie-channels and he has two wonderful dogs. He picked me up from the airport, helped me set up a rental car (thank you Melanie!!), and gave me a set of keys to his house. I was completely mobile and free to go anywhere I want. Any kind of help that you need, he will be there for you. This guy is one of a kind, anyone that will hurt him will have to stand up to me, because he is my brotha and I would mess you up so bad.. I love you big time Cali.

*Part One*

I picked up Cali at the airport in Brussels, he shoved his cart away (hard! it crashed against some big pole lol!) and we gave each other such a big hug that we almost choked each other.. Cali and I are like siblings in a way, we have some things in common that we don't even need to talk about, weird and great at the same time. He is sweet, very very generous, good company, way more intelligent than he showes people in general and he LOVES to walk. He can break down a wall with his snoring, (that's why Mafia didn't like him .. ;-) , he fell in love with both my couch and my shower, he told me about the Mayan Culture on the beach, and even fell asleep with me and Candy while doing 150km/h. We spent 4 days together, and it felt like 4 hours. We will meet again, there is no doubt in my mind about that. I adore you CaliBro :-) *KUS* .. And I miss you even more ..

Mark has become such a good friend to me; every day he helps me remember what CS is all about. If I had to pick one word for Mark, it would be "Classy". I know he'll crack up when he reads that, but honestly it's true; he is a very, very classy guy. He is constantly cognizant of people's honor and dignity. He has an amazing moral compass of what is right and wrong. I love him so much, and feel honored and lucky to know him. He's the best CS has to offer.

At first I didn't want to go to the beach for Carnival because I really hate it, both beach and carnival, but Cintia told me that we'd have really good people and surely we'd have a blast. She was right, I met several people and impressively all of them were really cool and Marco is one of them. From day one I felt really comfortable with him and knew that I got a new friend and someone I could trust. (ok ok, he's superman by night and of course I should trust him, but during carnival even superman can show his flaws - too much beer and butts around, but Marco didn't ..... hmmmmmmmmm hehehehehe).
Marco, you've got a friend here who you'll always be able to count, even for beaches and carnivals!

"Good Friend... Good Person"

Damn, what can i say about this guy?, he is not only a CS friend that i happened to meet, he is my irmão-brother-hermano whatever, we have been chattin..i mean cursing each other for over 3 years, and meeting him this february in Brasil for the first sight was something like so simple i mean it seemed we were old friends and at the same time it was so thrilling. Well Marko is amazing, has an incredible sense of humour, a special person and my friend for life. I will never forget the good momments together with Cintia and Mikky there in Ubatuba. Love ya my brother.

Ok, I not found him lost in a Brazilian airport. I was there to give him a ride to Ubatuba (north coast of São Paulo), where we spend the Brazilian Carnival 2008. Marco, know you was incredible. In a few days I felt as if I knew you has a long time, because you are very friendly, fun and a little crazy (just like me, hahahaha). Thanks for all the laughs we had together, I am very grateful to you for all that fun I had. Know that you earned a good friend in Brazil (not me!), And whenever you want to visit Sao Paulo, my house will be open to host you! I'm sure we will meet in somewhere again. How do you put into words the connection that Marco and I have? I'm his little sister (even though I'm older) and I wouldn't have it any other way. It's years in between our face to face meetings, but a big hug and a kiss and it's like I saw him last week. Marco, I love you and am so grateful that CS has brought you into my life. *ahem*...so as i was saying..we cs chatted for QUITE a bit, exchanging quite a few :manhugs: .. finally we met at the CS bonfire in San Diego. It was great hanging out with Marko & all the other CS'rs. Ended up crashing at a hostel downtown with him and FLIP69.. Marko's an awesome guy and great representative of CS....although he tends to roll around alot when he sleeps....

So... Marco got a bit late in our plans to marry each other hehehehhe, but finally we met in a weeding party. actually, a weeding wekeend! And it was like met someone that i knew since ever. It was just great to have him around and hug him, kiss him and dance with him every time that i wanted. Just a shame that the time passed so fast. And that meeting just proved me what i knew already: I LOVE Marco! He is just the best!

Wow! What a nice guy! I accidentally approached him in SD thinking he had on a couchsurfing shirt, which he didn't. But as always, the nicest experiences often come from "mistakes." Mark was a lot of fun and a cool person to party with at the CS bonfire. I enjoyed being his official beer run driver and all the laughs. He was very attentive towards everyone and I really appreciated his company. If he didn't have so many marriage requests in his references, I'd marry him myself. I guess I just have to take a number.:P

Marco is u pure legend. i do have another word for him but cant really write it here haha. c...!!!! anyway had a blast for the few days we were there, but beware of the ps3-it hooked us and we almost didn't leave the house. Marco is a legend that put me up lastminute.com when hunting for a place to stay in LA! He was great showing us around the city( when he was able to get us out of the house at a decent hour ;) when not preoccupied with shooting things! haha. quality guy who i would recommend anyone to meet, laid back, likes to party and on the ball. I stayed at his house for 2 days and I had a lot of fun going to the beer festival and talk with him and his friends.

I first met Marco in chat where he regaled me with pages upon pages of dirty jokes. Then he charmed me at the bonfire with his extensive knowledge of things to make fun of Ken about. I claim my rightful spot as a bridesmaid at this upcoming wedding ;)

What can you say more about a guy that has so many positive comments. From the bonfire. He was the center of the party. Had great time there chatting with him. He even volunteered to get some more drinks. Great guy.

This guy is hilarious- Probably the highlight of my night at the bonfire was making fun of Tom with him.

We had a great time partying at oktoberfest! He´s a pretty good tour guide of Munich and took us to Dachau too. Hope to see him again!

Mark is very funny fellow and the master of chillaxing. I spend the most wonderful weekend with him, Laura, Cameron and Pasqual in Amsterdam. Being
with them felt like the time stopped. Thank you guys, I can't get enough.

I am so glad that I met this guy. I was already CS with one of my great friends from Munich Tobi and it was such a good vibe with so many great people in one place! + amazing party at the Oktoberfest!!!

I met this person randomly through other couchsurfer and he right away asked me that he can host me. He made us confortable and it'S a very opened minded guy. When you talk to him, you don't want to go to sleep because he has so many interesting stories to share and he is a lot of fun. Thanks for hosting me, sharing stories untill 5 am, giving us some advice on the city and I am sorry for making you run after your dogs for a couple of hours because we did not close the door properly :) hehe. well well well, i have no idea how long this reference will become once, it looks like we need a new feature/technology for such ref´s.
this time we met up at the airport in belguim brussels where he and runner picked me up and we went to the netherlands together.
we were both hosted at the runners dome, and spent a perfect day at the incredible markermeer!
explored amsterdam together and had a hard task to catch the right boat - hahaha somehow we managed to catch the last train and went back to the mafia area.
it was so good to see the California Hero again after one year, and yes we gonna do it again, everything is set and connect for sept munic/germany! see you there mon - can´t wait!IRIE

once a year is Hero Time!
it took me weeks now to update this reference, i simply had no idea of what to say as i was that overhelmed with happiness.
i made it to California and i couldn´t wait to meet my personal Hero again, then finnally he showed up in Riverside, hosted him there for a night, a few days later i got hosted by Marco and i felt like family around, we headed over to Vegas together for a real wicked weekend, then back to LA hosted by Marco again, gosh, as the hero says in his profile, accountant by day and superman by night, this is more than true!
when i jumped in the plane to europe i had a kind of mixed feeling of sadness and happiness, sad cause i had to leave my friend, happy cause i had the chance to spend time with him.

and a couple of days ago i got the announcment that soon in sept 07 we gonna do it - uuups - again -

gosh, just 2 weeks where gone but it felt like ages, now we met in ubatuba, brazil and spend the most superduper carneval ever together, got hosted in sao paulo together by cintia and, and.. you know what...

Marco is a true ambassador for CS. A great guy to be around, full of knowledge, and always willing to share a good story. If you have a chance to hear about his travels to Europe, DO IT!

I got to know Marco online all the way back in 2005. Finally met in reality in July 2007 on a 3-day trip to Vegas when we partied like animals, chilled by the pool and spent SHITLOADS of money dreaming of becoming millionaires, lol. Good fella.

Marco is the best. I hitched a ride with him and a carload of malcontents to hang out at Venice beach for a day. I'm glad I met Marco. He's a man of extremes. He works and plays like a maniac. The good kind though. I hope to hang out more in the future! Thanks for coaxing me into the trip.

Met this guy once, we'll meet again soon, I'm sure of it. He's the reason why the CouchSurfing Project is around - loyal, trustworthy, cool, and has a very positive attitude!

I Finally had the chance to meet Marco in L.A. I have heard of him for a while in Montreal, the city that he's in love with. We had a great time hanging out in Santa Monica and Hollywood with Caro and other CS. Look forward to see you in North California or in Montreal.

If Mark's couch was as big as his heart, then there would be room for everyone to sleep there! I hope to share many more CSer activites with him.

CS paradise in LA.... :). My big brother Marcito is just super-great... he already had 2 of my friends surfing his place, but insisted on me coming over as well - even came to pick me up from Fullerton (about an hour away from his place) to make sure I couldn't surf anywhere else... ;)

Marco is totally easy-going, super-nice and a fantastic host.... it's just so so so easy to feel totally at home at his place.... I met Marco in at a LA meeting and really enjoyed the time I talked with him. He is a very outgoing cool guy and easy to talk with. I only wish we would have had more time to talk and do some things around LA. I will for sure look you up next time I am there ;)

Met Mark at an LA couchsurfing party. It was my first experience with Couchsurfing and overall it was a very positive one. Mark is very passionate and knowledgeable about the site, and I felt welcomed into the couchsurfing community.

Finally met the "Marcos" and he is even grander in real life! now I know why he's been there and done that. I know we'll keep on reading about his neverending stone-turning while wandering about the Earth.

Lucy .... I'm home! that's what he would yell when he got home from work. marco is my padre, we spent the week after MTL in his house "decompressing". it was like we we're a real family, complete with dogs. marco is really sweet and hospitable. whenever i would be over he would set up the bed for you and everything and make sure you can find the peanut butter and even stocked up on popcorn *mouth waters* he's one to have a good long conversation over a glass ... ok bottle, of wine. i'm glad i can see him pretty much whenever i want.

Super SUPER nice guy. Marco is a charming guy.... you could put him in a lions den with a buch of pro wrestlers and he will still help the others out first. Marco is one of God's hymns... he shines!!!

Marky Marko. He was simply amazing. He went above and beyond the call of duty (or hosting duties :-) We all had 4 days of incredible times. It was sad to leave him. We can't wait to see him here in Atlanta or wherever he might end up! We miss you!

Marco the Great! We met in Montreal over New Year's & it was like reconnecting avec an old dear friend. He's generous, kind, fun, & a complete wise-ass. He's LA's premier host, & an amazing guest. He's also one of the most wonderful caring amazing people I've ever met. Marco would do anything for his friends. You can unlock your deepest secrets, hopes & fears to him. He is completely trustworthy & a very dear person to me. Marco is my Friend. That makes me a very lucky girl.

I thought he was a man of mystery; of many secrets, that I didn't know him despite him insisting that he tells me everything. Well, it turns out he's just a boring work-a-holic!
This simple man is someone who would saw off his left hand for you, but if you take it for granted he'll slap you with his right one... but just as a light reminder to help you be a better person, of course.
Through those I respect I learn and grow. Marko is one of my mentors.

I love Marko. He's such a great warm amazing guy. We havent hosted each other but have surfed at Yaze's so many times. Can't wait to see him back to Montreal!

Host of the year 2005. This guy knows how life works! It all started with us sharing the love of beer and I finally made it over to have not one, not two, but an entire week of straight drinking during the LA gathering. I stayed at his place – like 7 other CSers did – no no orgy :) – and he is a great host. He gave us a 9.5 – I trust them with my car! I had a great time staying in LA and Marko was a big part of it. Whenever you are good for some partying and u are around his place u gotta stop! Brooooooooooother……and don’t do the Leo!

What a good time! I had a blast surfing with the "other" Mark! Definately a top shelf guy. He was extremly accommodating in terms of my screwy trip schedule, and made me feel at home from the first second! I also got the bonus of being able to meet and hang with a fellow surfer from Brazil!! I hated missing out on the Vegas trip, but I'll be back!

CaliforniaMark and his friend Wendy were staying with me a couple of days. We had mutual interests and a lot to talk about. I really liked the company.

Such a great, great guy. I honestly don't know how anyone can say Marco is anything but great. I met him one November afternoon and within minutes, he had charmed me with stories about his mother's chicken-raising days and just tales about his travels.

(And believe me when I say I'm the cynical sort, and not easily charmed. ;D)

We met up again in late Feb. and honestly, he went out of his way to make sure that the get-together I was planning worked smoothly. He totally went out of his and picked up two people he didn't even know at UCLA just because I needed someone to and asked. Then, he went even more out of his way to give me a ride home, despite the bad weather and local. Total gentleman.

I believe he's going to Europe soon, so hey - if he wants to stay with you or even just to meet up with you, do! He's a definite asset to couchsurfing and you will be immensly glad you know him.

Marco is the sh*t....always good times and a broken tooth smile on his face...hahaha, I hung out with Marco a few days in MTL then bumped into him again in LA. He's taken in my family, so he is family to me. Most recently he scooped my up off the streets of Hollywood, fed me and tucked me into a comfy bed...A true couchsurfer with a big heart...see ya in Cali again bro......
