If you are in trouble finding an accommodation in Rome you can check out Pensione Ottaviano or Hostel Colors: this hostels are pretty central and located by the Vatican while the others are all around the dirty and less safe main railway station.
Check out also Plus Camping Roma, a bit out of the center but pretty much well connected and definitely the cheapest option after the park benches!
In the Summer time you might want to stay also at Litus Roma Hostel, directly on the beach at just 30 min by metro from the city center, or at the nearby Country Club Castelfusano Camping, where a place in a shared tent costs just 5 Euro!

If you have a higher budget check also Venere.com to see hotels and B&Bs with rooms availability and an online reservations system. Once here I suggest you to buy a SIM card to use with your unlocked mobile phone: a new number with 5 Euro credit that you can recharge when necessary costs just 5 Euro, and let you receive calls for free and call others with cheaper rates. I recommend Wind because they have the cheapest rates, but Vodafone and TIM are ok too. If you are staying long enough and have no unlocked phone, you might want to consider to buy a cheap phone for even just 20 Euro. Shops, both operator owned or with no brand, are at every corner so you won't have difficulties in finding one.

Personal DescriptionHow I Participate in CS2CouchSurfing ExperienceI use to travel this way since early 90s... I started with school groups and being a Servas member (1995!). Then I joined some internet group (in 1996/1997) and enjoyed them a lot... now I'm here and I have met a lot of hosts and guests! InterestsI love to travel in order to get to know people and cultures. I think meeting the others is the best way to compare our being and improve ourselves! PhilosophyThe most valuable travels are often made by those with more time than money. Music, Movies, Books* Music: my favourite is R&B and jazz/soul (from Aretha to R.Kelly / E.Badu / Maxwell / ...) but I listen to everything from hip-hop to contemporary country (Garth / Reba / ...) through quality pop; I also like to discover some good stuff in other languages so if you have suggestions just tell me!

One Amazing Thing I've Seen or DoneSauna + (half in my case) jump in the freezing water, totally naked on New Year's Eve in Northern Norway!

Flavio saw that I was without a couch in Rome and invited me to share his tent on the beach as well as enjoy a party. The beach was beautiful, the party was great, but I was tired so I crashed early.
Unfortunately, during the night one of my bags was stolen from the shed and some important valuables were lost. Flavio was persistent that we search the area, and it resulted in my bag and some of my valuables being recovered (think Passports, rail pass).
Without Flavios determination, I likely would not have made the effort, and he made sure the rest of my stay with him was comfortable and shared his couchsurfing experiences.
Hope our paths cross again, and thanks for everything!

Apr 13 Positive reference is just positive since I didn't have the chance to talk with him enough. this is my tight CS ethic rule maybe, don't know :) Anyway Flavio seems a very nice guy, he's very talkative and interesting person.
