We spent a pretty full on day wondering around the city of sydeny. Sonja was very interested in all that she was exposed to and had a passion for travelling and learning about "stuff". It was a pleasure hanging out with her for the day.

I had nice conversations and spent good time with Sonja at the aroma festival and CS sydney walk. She's nice and friendly,definitely fun to hang out with

Sonja emailed me as "lost", and now she is found, found Napier Art Deco week, other CSers, and a whole world of friendly Hawkes Bay. Great to experience an Ambassador in action.
Activities so far over her 6 month working holiday in HB, Kaweka Challenge, WETA food festival, 2 Mayoral bikewise challenges, Napier Art Deco weekend, The Mission Concert Tom Jones, volunteer at WOMAD 2008 New Plymouth. Bike rides around HB. Arranged a large newspaper photo & article for World CS Day. Climbed Kaweka J (highest point in Hawkes Bay), walked out to Cape Kidnappers to gannet colony. And watched new full moon rise out of the sea. Thanks platonic friend.

Sonya is a lovely person who stayed on with us after Stefan returned to Germany. Unfortunately we never anticipated how long Sonya was staying for, so there was some miscommunication between us. She was great with Zoe and the neighbourhood kids quickly took a liking to her. We wished we had more time to connect with Sonya as we were so busy at the time she stayed. Sonja is outgoing, upbeat, and very friendly! I only met her for a short time volunteering at a festival in Auckland, but it was obvious that she is very caring and kind and puts 100% into everything she does. We had a lot of hard work to do sorting garbage and picking up litter, but Sonja smiled the whole time and gave it her all. I hope we'll meet again someday :)

Sonja is very very cool (even if she will hate me saying this). Never ever to be underestimated. Takes her time with all things then does exactly what she planned to do. Now that's cool. Aways to pleasure to meet up with too!

I had a really fantastic time in Cologne with Sonja, and I wish I could have stayed for longer. We took a "trip around the block" which lasted for 3 hours and included not only Sonja's immediate neighbourhood but the city centre as well - much fun! Along the way we had some interesting conversation, picked blackberries, and joined some kids playing in a mud puddle. We also discovered a mutual love of honey-flavoured gummi bears and fresh mint tea... The timing worked out very nicely when she came to Australia, too, and we were housemates for a few weeks. If you get the chance to meet this wonderful, free-thinking, open-minded woman: DO! :)

Sonja was a great guest. She helped out around the house and spent time getting to know Maddison. We enjoyed getting to know her and look forward to catching up with her in the future. Good luck with the rest of your travels.

Sonja is a fun loving person and I enjoyed spending time with her in Akaroa! Maybe I will surf with her in Germany one day!

Independant, forward, smiling, fun, lovely. Yes, I like her, she's great, easy to talk to, easy to get along with, she's a great traveller, finds her way around without a problem, and she's good company. She'd be a good travel companion too!

Sonja is too nice! She is so cheerful and open, and ready to do anything and go anywhere! She even bought me a Mercedes Benz (heheh)! I had a bad cough and she was very nice about it, didn't let it bother her at all, and we ended up having a great time. See you after Australia, Sonja! I will be waiting to show you around again, sans cough :)

I knew Sonja through group posting before CHYKA asked me to host her. Without a doubt, I agreed though I plan to take a break from hosting.

Sonja is a very warm and caring person and I like her instantly. We spend every night sharing own experiences and life stories.

Though it was a mere 3 days, I enjoyed her company in the house! I wish you all the best in OZ/NZ Sonja! See you next Summer!

Terms to describe Sonja: crazy, friendly, funny, easy-going, reliable and probably some more I just can't think of right now. Travelling with her was definately worth my while.

...what more can one ask for when one surfs a cot (which is very comfortable i might add) in a kitchen??? great meals & great conversations...and a great overall CS experience...thanks Sonja...cheers, the kitchen fairy...

It's lots of good times with Sonja! Wether it's seriousness or absolute sillyness - good fun! She's the kind of person who makes me wonder what's going on in her life - what interesting things & projects she's up to this time :-)

After changing so much "heads-up" and other mails Sonja was on my "definetly-to-meet"-list for a while. When she finally hosted me for a weekend in Cologne and I prefered not to go into any museum as I had planned, because the time with her was much more interesting!

I suggested that she have herself committed. She said that I looked like an orphan.
Would've liked to spend more time with her. :)

Actually a woman from HC asked for a host in my house in the time of carnival. Unfortunately my house was already full.
Nevertheless we had a lot of fun over skype, so we wanted to meet before she went back home. She told Sonja that Iam in the same
street as Sonja. So we met for a cup of tea in my house. time was fading away and almost it became half a day. We laugh and discuss and talk about such a things
Sonja is a crazy, faithfully, openminded and interesting woman. We will keep the contact, hope to stay friends.

Hard to describe. Just cool or even a person you have to meet. Deep diskussions about THE system, the mind and those things in between! Can't wait for the next date.

Sonja hosted me for 1 day in Köln. We didn't see each other for a long time but I can tell she's very sympathetic, knows how to make people feel at ease at her home, and learnt me one or two things about Couchsurfing and japanese t-shirt folding... Hope to meet you again sonja ! BTW that congress was über-boring, so I had the time to visit Köln, the Dom & Ludwig Museum...

We had a really good time in Cologne and that was made possible by Sonja! She's a great host who's willing to show the city or a medieval Xmas Market.

She's a real CS Addict who can tell you everything about it and she will ;)

Sonja`s a wonderful, kind girl who shares so much and asks for so little. Anyone who stays with her will have a wonderful experience in Cologne. Thank you so much Sonja you know you will always be welcome where ever I live :)

Wow, I can't even begin to decribe to this girl. She is definately sugar and spice and all things nice, but she is also silly and fun and caring and a good you know too. MMM...hummous soup. We did so much together, she really dedicated herself to ensuring that I had a great and got do the things I wanted. Need a list of things we did together? Hmm, I seem to remember a beach, different piles of rocks behind a brick wall, pigs pigs and more pigs, eating, wine, football, singing, barbeque on the river, long walks, great talks, pigs pigs pigs, singing saw informational meeting, and one big amazingly beautiful storm. I hope that sums it up. I really had a great time surfing her couch the first time where she tought me the game of pigs. I liked that game and Sonja so much that had to come back, only to find my own set of pigs waiting for me. We had hard times saying goodbye and I "accidently" left my allergy medecine at her place so I had to pop in for one last visit. Whatever we did we had fun and I will always take some time to see her if I happen to be within 300 kilometer of Köln. She rocks out load with tie-dye pants.

We did not meet for a long time, but it was very nice of her to help us a little bit to me and my son.

She hosted me for 1 night and she showed me her city. Then we met again in Warszaw at the HC wintercamp and shared some nice New-Year moments.
I enjoyed meeting her very much. She is lovely, funny and full of energy. It is so nice to laught with her.
I am eager to meet her again!!

I had a pleasure of hosting Sonja during our polish wintercamp. Her company is enjoyable. I'd introduce her to polish cuisine and habits of inviting anonymous Germans over for a night. You're always welcome to stay in my place again. Was glad to meet you and thanks for bringing your 12-string. I enojoyed playing it.

Sonja was my fist CS host; both her enthusiasm and generosity were fantastic, making my short stay an enjoyable one. Highlights were following chalk arrows to a jazz night, making origami birds late into the night while discussing quantum physics with her, my sister and another CSer (Geva), and big breakfasts.

I met Sonja at the collective in eisenstadt but unfortunately there we didn't have much time to get to know each other. i was pretty sure i would see her again and thats exactly what happened this weekend. She is an exceptional host and i do feel sad that we couldn't have much time to finish this good talk we had. i really want to be able to see you before you get the hell out of Europe for whatever exotic locations of yours!! thanks again Sonja for the amazing time and dedication you showed!!

I have heard about how cool Sonja is, and that she was already a famous and active couchsurfer, but I didn't know she was THAT cool! Sonja and I, and 20 other people had a great Christmas meeting with lots of beer, glühwein music and friends. It was an unforgettable experience, and I hope to see her again very soon (warsaw?)

Ahhh friendly Sonja was one of the organisers of the Xmas meeting in Cologne and she manged to do a great job with a phone that was only working half of the time.Danke for bringing so many together!

She hosted me for only 1 night! my first night couchsurfing! enough time to say that she is great great person! always funny, friendly, good mooded! helped me with some back pain, and teached me the excersices!..she made me keep couchsurfing!

I shared some lovely time with Sonja, together with my brother and another CSer Greg. We went to an open mic night (guided there by exciting chalk arrows!), cooked together (which took hours somehow even though it was just pasta!) and made origami birds from kinder egg wrappers over wine whilst talking about resonance and physics and chemistry, as well as sharing beautifully presented breakfasts every day! Sonja is a generous, open, thoughtful host embracing everything good about couchsurfing, hope we can meet and share more time together in the future - maybe at the next European collective!

Xoni is a lovely, intelligent, interesting person who was kind enough to let me into her playfull imaginative world for a few days. Somewhat like the place called Narnia.. but she's got less lions. She does have a rhino however, so don't cross her, as the rhino takes telepathic suggestions from her!!!
Our time together was shorter than it should have been.. but in that time we were able to have some fun, some great chats, share our dreams, play with her Furby, drink some wine, build kinder-toys, and play in a vacated church (God was watching however). She even took me to a playground where we could could get our fill of swings, spinny things, see-saws, etc. Oh.. and she let me talk to the other surfers that were there as well.
There's more.. like the chalk trail that she left for me in order to find the jam session that she was playing at when I arrived! She gives a good shoulder massage as well.. best I've had in awhile. Another great thing about er place.. you don't need to bring your own stuffed animal.. she's got loads of spares!
Would love to stop by again on my way through, but am out of time. Hope to make it back her way sometime soon in order to spend some more time with her! Ciao Xoni!

I spent 2 days with Sonja and had a great time. A very interesting person to talk to with a unique personality, and i hope to welcome her on my couch one day.

Sonja? a lovely, kind, intelligent girl. I consider her one of my best friends. I was her host in Cologne: I love Cologne; I walked with her and her friend Norbert in Kalk: I love Kalk. I visited with her the local hospital: I love this hospital. Come soon to FLorence, Sonja! We'll keep our friendship alive!

Sonja was a great participant of the CSC in Austria this year. She is a great example of couchsurfing spirit... she did a great job of running the welcome wagon and greeting new guests. She even gave some crucial input at the meetings. It would be a pleasure to have her involved with the next collective we have.

We were two peas in a pod because we had so many things in common and she was very considerate and open minded. She enhanced my experience in Köln by 100%. I was very blessed to have her as my first couch surfing host.

Sonja was in fabulous spirits even with our late night call. She picked us up at the train station and though we didnt get to hang out for long, the time we did have together was great. She even showed me where to find Gluten free products in Germany which was a serious help! Thanks!

... birds and crickets calmed down and night Eisenstadt fell into enchanted silence when a divine melody of a fascinated wanderer song flew up over hills and vales making all hearts of this world a little bit better...

Sonja is a great girl. She had the patience of following me in a whole museum. She's a positive vibe around her, always smiling and when she sings it seems like sky's cracking and angels are coming down..

Sonja is a special person that knows how to make you feel better with her positive way of enjoing the day and taking away the tension that one could have when doing lot of work... I enjoyed your company at the collective and look forward to meet up again.

Sonja is so kind and peaceful, kept us quiet, during the crazy nights at the CS Collective in Eisenstadt, singing melodies and enchanting us. Just a bunch of seconds later, a lot of fun with our "whistling fake trumpets" challengin' each other about famous tunes. Thanks a lot Sonja, ppffffff! :)

She is an awesome cook. I learned how to cook a lot of different dishes with her; she was my guide to the confusing, at least for me, European grocery stores. She has a great personality and has an incredible singing voice. Where every I went in the Eisenstadt collective, I could always count on seeing her getting along with everyone. Nice people like her should exist everywhere.

Have u ever heard Joan Baez (no exaggerations here) whining in the lower steps of a shady corridor of a school in Austria? How about digging in the sulphuric mud of a lake nearby Vienna? Sonja did both and she is great. See u around crazy one!

Sonja is cheerful, friendly, helpful, affectionate and a fabulous singer. It is a pity I missed her singing sessions in Eisenstadt (along with all the fun people had after I left). It was fun to host her in Vienna, and I hope we get to meet again.

Sonja always seemed to be in good mood and was so wonderfully happy and smiling whenever she caught sight of me - don't you have to love her just for that? She made me laugh a lot about her unbelieavable camp leader adventure stories.

Sonja is a truly wonderful person. I've been trying to think of what kind of great reference to leave from just about the moment we met and I know I'll be having to update omissions. We had some great "experience" one the way to Eisenstadt together with Sergei. At the collective she was one of the charming people who constantly managed to put others in a good mood. She was also the one with the most unique vocal chords. On the way back we did some hitch-hiking together. The part I hitched with her was by far the easiest hitch on the trip.

An excellent host. This was my first couch surfing experience and it was very positive. If it wasn't for Couchsurfing this night I would have had to sleep in the train station because of World Cup.
