Dave was a fellow surfer at Burning Man '07. He's a great positive guy to have around in any situation. Very laid back, sweet, and mellow! Yay for Dave!!

Dave deserves big props for all the burning man coordination he has done. I'm excited to hit the playa with him this year!!! :)

Dave is a great guy, very helpful and considerate. He stayed at my house for a couple of days after we camped at Burning Man and helped me around my yard, was a good conversationalist, and overall fun person to be around.

Dave seems a nice enough chap, who's pretty spontaneous!

I totally adore and admire Dave! After meeting last year at Burning Man I am so glad we convinced him to join us in Spain for another magical week at Nowhere! He is a wonderfully crazy free spirit, the most genuine guy I have ever met and incredibely warm, helpful and friendly. Plus I have never met anyone with more amazing stories to tell! Dave met me at my Place during the famous Carnival 2008 in Santa Cruz.
Dave is a very exceptionally friendly and cultivate guy with a lot of traveling experience. The "talking Dinners" tokes hours and didn't find it's end, 'cause there are real a lot of things to talk about. Also Roberto (the Cat) enjoyed his attendance and played with him a lot. Dave, it would be a pleasure to me, if you would stay next time once more at my place. You're always welcome again! Good Luck 2 U!

Dave is nuts - in the best sense of the word. I would expect anything from him, good times, hilarious stories, and a loud snore come to mind off the bat.

I've stopped counting how many different times Dave has surfed my place since the first time back in 2006. And I definitely can't list all the amazing memories we've collected since then. But to name a few, we've partied together in cities all across in North America, drank our fair share of beer, eaten enough MSG-soaked snacks to sink a ship, did some wicked burning together in BRC and hitchhiked together through a horrible Canadian winter storm.

Over the years, Dave has become one of the most important people in my life and I know I can turn to him at any moment, day or night, when I need a true friend. He has showed me time and time again the meaning of friendship and has taught me a lot about living, and what really matters for our time here on this rock.

There are no words for Dave's ability to make people smile. His attitude, philosophies, genuine and kind nature and love of what really matters are so insanely inspirational. They carry me, and motivate me. They lift me up when I'm down. And they are just some of the reasons why I live the way I live.

It brings a smile to my face just knowing this beautiful human being is breathing the same air as me, even though he may be thousands of miles away. When I need a laugh, I think of the many funny moments we've shared from times with The Dragon to some messed shorts. When I want a flashback of great moments, I just close my eyes and toss on some Hot Chip.

Dave is anything but "normal" and I'm thankful every day I've been able to get to know him as much as I have. He's one hell of a guy. I can't wait for the next time he hitchhikes 4000km to see me or the next time he randomly shows up at my office with no notice. We have many more memories to make and I look forward to making make them. Life is life.

Dave was an absolute pleasure to have in my home and I'm fortunate to call him a friend. I welcomed him into my home twice in 2 years and I am looking forward to the day when I can crash on his couch in the UK.

Dave is Awesome! i met him and kikielectrique at the Burning man CS camp. He is fun and funny and full of wonderful stories. Dave is full of adventure and I cannot wait for our paths to cross again in the future.

Dave was a friendly, low-maintenance, and inspiring CS guest. Into all sorts of stuff from cider-making to hitch hiking, he made us want to go travel again.

I loved meeting Dave and spending some good quality drinking time with him. Dave is one of the nicest, most real and fun person to be around. Thanks for cheering me up with the Happy Dance, I'll never be able to listen to Jack Johnson without laughing again.

I had a blast riding bikes around the playa with Dave and Malika, searching for bike pumps and yellow bikes :) Dave is a wonderful person, I'd host him anytime!

Dave and Patrick came to surf my couch, they were hitchicking in a snowstorm. We talked a lot, found a lost bag, he is a really nice and kind person, with a lot of good stories to tell.

Dave made a one night stop in our place while on his looooong hitchhiking trip through Canada. He's a very relaxed and easy going man, with great stories to tell. Super respectful, and an easy guest to have at home.

[update] We had some good times at burning man, between the randomness and crazy schedules of the playa life :D

[update] After a long adventure, dave honored us with his visit again. Now we did have time for a lot more chatting and sharing and wine and cheese, which was very interesting. The toast was to change, which seems to be such a visible constant in our lives.

We're always glad to be part of Dave's crazy globetrotting :)

Incredible Dave!!! I hosted Dave in May 2006 in Quebec city...for a week!!! We got along very well I guess... I can say that you need to know this guy to understand some of the meanings of life, and to giggle all night as well!!! If he ever wants to couch surf to your place, open your door to him he is extremely fun and giving...This person can surely change someone's life for the best. I know because I traveled with him quite a lot and I learned so much from all his experiences. Mr. Dave made me want to be someone better, he enlightened my life in his own way! It is certainly the best breeze that ever came into my life and he will never be forgotten.

Dave was soft spoken, a little hung over and understanding. His willingness to share experiences and knowledge was wonderful.

Under the "Amazing Things I have Done" catagory Dave states that he has changed someone's life. I am compelled to correct him:he changes the lives of many...touches you in a profound way before moving on to fufill the same purpose for the next soul he encounters.

Dave is one of the most amazing, intelligent, and giving persons I have ever met -- he helps everyone in his path and I'm honored to have met him -- I can only hope that we may have more opportunities for a friendship in the future as well! Happy travels Dave!

I met Dave at the Burning Man 07 CSC, and was entertained by his stories and actions the whole week. He appreciates life, and knows how to enjoy himself in all that he does. He is always the one to step up when something needs to be done, and almost single handedly saved the parachute canopy from blowing away in the dust storms. I can’t wait to see him again, and I hope our paths cross soon.

Dave made camp a helluva fun place to be, he helped create and deconstruct the whole thing all while wearing a thing sarong. He is a very talented man, great to have around

I'm so glad I had the chance to meet Spikes! I loved the conversations, the laughs, the cakes ;), learning about the nomadic lifestyle, and of course watching Malika drag him off the couch. Then they beat me to BM 2007, only to have more fun times.. with less clothes and a hell of a lot more dirt. All hands on, and willing to jump into any project. Thanks for the help, the laughs, and getting branded with me. And my BM gift. ;)

Spikes is AMAZING. he and tumbleweed rocked our CS burningman camp, they were soooooooo helpful and willing to pitch in. Spikes lived in a sarong the whole time i knew him. i hope some of his care-freeness rubbed off on me:) happy trails...come visit soon!

A universal connection one can have with this man. A mentor, a friend, a love. I travel with him always in spirit and have had the fortune to have an individual as such in my life, perhaps the afterlife as well.

Dave and Malika crashed at our place for a bit. Deck parties and lots of beer. Malika makes a killer stir fry. Nothing like some "jumbo greco slices".

I first met Dave when I returned home from a long day at the Calgary Folk Fest. He was chilling with Malika and my housemates in the backyard. We had a great time chilling out that night.

Dave is one cool cat man! This guy has some truly genuine vibes about him, and some wicked awesome stories! I would deffinitly hang out with this guy and Malika anytime! And a plus, they brought some fine commodities to the backyard... Bow Valley, and some bread and cheese! mmmm

Dave was the party! I had a really good time hanging out in my back yard sharing stories. If you can get him going it sounds like he has more than a pocket full of them. And he can really build a good fire. It sure kept us up burning into the evening. I definetly wouldn''t mind crossing paths with him again.

I met Dave when we CS'd at the same house (Patrick) in P.E.I. Spent the evening sharing stories and having a very cool time. I thoroughly enjoyed listening to Dave's travel adventures. He and Malika have inspired me to go further into nomadic existence, throwing myself into the universe and fully embracing the spirit of adventure. I'm really glad we met.

I heard so much about Dave before I met Him.. And He's a very kind person who's releasing a very warm, calm and positive energy..I even let him pierce my nose, and he did it with professionalism and respect.. So I wish I'll met him again! Happy travelling to Nevada to both of you!

I prepped them for Burning Man and they prepped me for hitchhiking through the Maritime. Even gave me there hitching signs.

We had a meeting in Halifax and Dave (or is it really his name hihi) showed up with a group from PEI. I spent the evening listening to his tales and adventures from around the world and through Canada. Amazing guy! See you around somewhere Dave!

Dave was a very upbeat person to meet. He loves music and is very out going.I would say if you met him at a party he would be the life of it.

Dave is a great fellow. Not only did he help me cut down my pre-9PM swearing but enlightened me on ways to make my coffee more exciting! If you get a chance to host this delightful guy consider yourself lucky. He has a great attitude and very positive outlook on life!

Dave was an excellent guest, quite cheerful and chatty. Hope he gets to join us in Canada in a more permanent fashion.

Dave took me to an interview with a BBC radio station in his shinyfast blue Lamborghini. It was rediculously super-fun rock star. Then Dave and I totally had one of those deep, personal three-hour philosophical conversations where we really got to know each other and totally bonded at a pub in Milton-Keynes. Dave's a good man, you should let him surf your couch and tell you a story or twelve. I never did see my demo CD's again but it was my own dang fault for forgeting them under the passenger seat. It's a pretty good excuse though, "Oh I'm sorry Mr. Program Director, I don't have a demo CD because I left it under the passenger seat of a Lamborghini after my interview at the BBC." Life is GOOD.

He is very cool guy.. İt was very nice to meet with him... He is talkative, open minded and friendly.. hope to see him again..

We have met up in Izmir despite all the technological barriers.. He is an adventurous, "enjoy the day, dont worry about the bad experiences" guy! Hope we can meet again somewhere in the world.

Dave is a most amazing man. He has that look you very rarely find. We actually met twice, once in New Brunswick and again on Prince Edward Island. We stayed at the same hosts and spent some time together, from Magnetic Hill to a bagpipe concert to enjoying the beach to a jam session with Sunseteye. The way he lives life is very impressive. And though I don't share his fascination for fast unhandy and money wasting vehicles, the stories about his Lamborghini are kinda cool and definitely funny. :-) I hope to meet him again, some day down some road. Good travels, man!

Dave is a verry interesting guy with so much stories that you will ask yourself if all are fact of fiction but it's true, he live the life some of us would dream to and other would be scared with the lack of security. This don't stop him and he grasp life with both hands.

Meet a charming drifter. Dave is the kind of person you always hope to meet in your travels. Generous of spirit as few people in the world truly are, spending a few days with him helped crystalise in me the mood of optimism and inquisitiveness that is so important to long term travel. If you get a chance to couchsurf with him or host him, do, he's the kind of person who enriches your life just from knowing him.

What a wonderful guy... I hosted Dave for 2 days and a night. He is a really nice guy, gentle, attentionate, generous (he gives me gifts for my birthday!) and social. He can be calm and about to sleep, but he can also sing outloud in car (he have a beautiful voice). He learns very fast other speaking, like French, and he have a good capacity of adaptation: you can bring him to partys, bazar where people just talk French and he will be ok with that. Also, he don't eat very often, but he eat all what you give to him, and he do the dishes more often than I!

House call for computers. Defenetly a very nice guy! He know a lot about life and things in general. He won't hesitate to offer his help if you need him. He did update my computer with very good anti-virus. If you want an openmind person with an intelligent philosophy, you got him!
