Naz Gassiep

Naz is awesome. He's generous with his time, his caring & his thoughts. He's patient & explained some really cool tech concepts for me while he was at the CSC. The 7-hour massage helps the local economy, so does getting all the orange juice! Naz is an cool person to meet. I hope to run into him somewhere else on the planet.

When the whole world wonders were is Nazz? Nazz will be basking in the glory of his adventures. He can land up at your door at anytime if there is any fun calling on him. He is pretty much a bouncing castle from Australia to Thailand to Australia to Thailand to South Africa all in just a couple of months. I will wait for your next call Nazz, to tell me your just a drive away ;)

I met Naz at the 2008 Couchsurfing collective in Thailand where we became room mates for a month. I also surfed at both Naz's place in Melbourne and his parent's place where himself, his housemate and all his family made me feel extremely welcomed.

Naz does a great job of balancing responsibility with adventure and is extremely considerate of others. Certainly hope we get the chance to travel together again in the future.

If you're looking for a host and you enjoy interesting debate, diving, rock climbing, pizza or ice cream sundaes then you'll love surfing at his place.

Naz was one of the most helpful, friendly, influential people at the thailand collective. he's even the reason the collective was IN thailand in the first place! saving kittens or introducing us to the delicacies of thailand, he brought a unique and positive perspective to the house that i only wish we had gotten a little more of! alas, Naz is a traveling man...

Naz is a very caring, openhearted and also funny person. I really hope we meet again one day! Maybe in Germany or Australia...?

I briefly met Naz in Bangkok and had a wonderful time exploring the city with him!

I am so thankful to Naz for making the long journey from Australia to Rotterdam to participate in the CSC-R. Naz is a truly talented developer with combined with a cheerful personality and a razor sharp whit. I have learned many things while in his company. I am especially thankful for the time he took to travel with me to Switzerland. I feel like I have made a great new friend. Thank you so much Naz!

Naz has an answer for everything. If you ask him about pet allergies, blue diode scanning technologies, heating pad chemical reactions or the merits of drinking whole milk vs half(ass) milk he'll explain to you, in a clear manner, with at least 3 reasons why, citing at least 3 sources supporting his reasoning.

In short ... he's rad. We've had a ton of great talks at the Rotterdam Collective, where do I find a chain so that he won't leave.

Naz is a great guy. He is a very interesting person to talk to due to many reasons. He is a well educated man from a completely different background, which makes for great conversations.
He came to the collective for a few days, ending up staying for almost two weeks!

I met Naz at the CSC-Techmeeting 22 June of 2007. Although I'm still quite amazed of the love at the CSC in general, Naz was one of the fellows that was quit, and brought peace and harmony :)

Naz has so much to tell anyone. Even though he doesn't drink (good for you Naz) he still sociolizes like the rest of us drunk asses. He is so much fun and does the most exciting stories. If you ever get the chance to host Naz, grab it!!!!

Naz is an energising person who you should take along if you want to go into the great outdoors- I hope to see you in Johannesburg again.

Rachel is a really fun person to hang out with. She's interesting and funny and you always know what she's thinking because her brain is directly connected to her mouth with no filter in between, which makes her the best person to ask when you want to know if your new haircut looks good!

John is a caring and compassionate person who is very pleasant to be around and stimulating to talk to. The world needs more people like this!

Had a great time getting to know him at the Thai collective. I was impressed with how level headed and quick thinking he is. Hope to meet him again in my travels!

I simply cannot imagine Andrew being anything other than bubbly and happy. He's a fun loving, eternally uplifting type of guy who could chase the blues away from just about any situation.

This Bollywood superstar has it all! She's fun to hang around with, has a great sense of humour, is great to work with and great to party with. If you get the chance to meet her (or even just get her autograph) I suggest you take it!

Laura was a smiling, happy bundle of fun and laughs with a sharp mind and pleasant demeanour. I hope to meet her again!

I met Diamond at the CS collective in Pai, stayed with him for a month there and then travelled through Thailand with him for about a week. Afterwards, he stayed with me in Melbourne for about 2 weeks. Diamond was an absolute pleasure to host and a great guy to hang out with. Hosting him was neither burdensome nor boring! He was the best kind of guest to have, just fitting in comfortably with everything as though he'd been living here forever. I would definitely offer him a place again, and I hope to get to travel with him in the future. All the best mate!

I had a great time hanging out with Raphaela in Thailand and I hope to cross paths with her again!

Bubbly, friendly and always happy, she's the sort of person you want around when you're feeling down.

I met Casey at a CS collective. He was kind enough to invite me on a pan-European trip with him. He is a genuinely warm, selfless person with much to offer the world, and an awesome guy to hang out with. I hope to catch up with him regularly in cool new places for more traveling adventures!

Jim was one of the first people I met in Rotterdam and made me feel welcome and comfortable. I thoroughly enjoyed getting to know him!

Walter was an awesome person to stay with. He took the time to get to know me and I really felt comfortable and welcome at his place in Rotterdam. He's welcome to stay on my couch any time!

Chris is one of those few people in this world who is genuinely unselfish. After wading through the narcissistic myopia so endemic in today's world, meeting people like Chris is a breath of fresh air.

Impressively good sysadmin! I had a great time getting to know him. I hope to cross paths with him again in my travels.

She made me chilli con carne! Very warm, easy going and hospitable person. Surf with her!

Weston is a pleasure to discuss issues with and is heaps of fun.

Lineke is an awesome chick who didn't mind the fact that I was transportationally challeneged and needed a lift back home. Had a great evening with her and her friends. Will definitely keep in touch!

Phia was nice enough to pick me up, entertain me for a day, introduce me to her lovely Mum as well as her awesome friends and then drop me back off. She's the first CouchSurfer I've met, and if they're all like this I plan on meeting many, many more! Thanks Phia, you rock!
