i had a really great time with shai in bombay. she and her family were really great with us and we had a lot of fun in mumbai harbour with our lightsabers...

She's my sister :)

Shai, Shai, Shai!!! There ain't no word to describe how fabulous this girl is. She is everything a girl can be, pretty, smart, brave, witty, loving, and soooo much more. One of the things I looked forward the most for coming to India was meeting her. She has given me the full attention and special treatment way beyond I thought I deserved while I was surfing at her place. She's got so much love pouring out of her! When she's got that cutiest smile on her face, it'd be impossible for anyone to find her not loverable. We had so much fun together, spending all night with chitter-chatter, had me covered up with jewelery, and she enabled me for riding camels in Rajasthan by arranging everything (and when I say everything I meant EVERYTHING) with comfortable night train ride with bed, hooking me up with the most wonderful guest house, all during the busiest holiday! I can't wait to see her again and travel together in the future!

Shai has a natural ability to cut through acres of bullshit, while having you in splits with her acerbic observations. Well traveled, well spoken, and rather gregarious - always a pleasure to meet.

Shai can take you out of your mind but you always finish missing her. We have shared lots of good conversations over food of any type, drinks, etc. She is very smart and well read person you can really learn form her... and... oh, hell, yeah! She has beocme family.

After hearing so much about her from other CSers, finally got to meet Shai for a great dinner with other CSers and friends in Delhi. She is smart, well-read, witty and for sure a world traveller. Really hope to catch up with her sometime soon !

SO nice to meet Shai in Mumbai. Great to to talk to. We had lunch, and breakfast, shopped around a bit, and hung out at her place. Lovely hostess. Even found me a one time yoga class, which is hard to find in mumbai. She was great. I can't wait to show LA in exchange when she comes to visit.

Shai--an experience which was full of fun,intellectual stimulation,and exchange of common interests--I guess we hit off well.she is one person who comes across as warm,kind hearted and a happy soul with an infectious smile.

Met up with Shai at the sea food dinner..Followed up with an engaging dinner at the Yacht club along with dr. ashish chopra..and believe me is is not SHY! she always has a radiating big cheesy smile and a fun person to talk to. She brings with her the cultural assimilation of 7.5 years in the US which is very interesting...look forward to catching up with you again SHY!!!

She is someone I really wanted to meet. My trip to Mumbai was to make up for missing the chance to host and meet her in Warsaw. Now that I have met the great SHAI, life is complete and I can die and go to haven/hell. She is what everything that everyone is talking about and more. She is simply the best.

I feel extreemly lucky to have met ShAi. Not only did she (and her parents!) provide me with exceptional hospitality and a fabulous introduction to India, I now have a long term connection with an intelligent, interesting, highly creative and in addition -abosolutly georgeous woman! When I think of ShAi, "watch this space!" comes to mind because I know her life will flourish like the beautiful energy she gives out. I am looking forward to seeing her again in Mumbai but also hopfully on my home turf as well!

I met Shai on my first real couchsurfing experience. And she made me LOVE it. We had an amazing time in Mumbai, Shai showed me and my siser around, she took us out and her mother cooked a fantastic meal for us. Amazing. I just wish that she will lift her self imposed travel ban soon and come to visit us in Italy. We still have a lot of stuff to discuss!

Shai provided me with some incredible insight on what it means to living in India during such an exciting time of transformation. She seemed excited in Mumbai, and so was I!

Statutory Health Warning: Her company is, on the one hand, good for your health since she'll give you numerous opportunities to laugh at her HOWEVER...ever since I returned from Ahmedabad, my ears are hurting, due to excessive over-use... my eyes are hurting from all the three-flash-a-second picture sessions... and I have this terrible cold that refuses to go away!! we met when shai was in vienna and it was really cool to finally get to know her in person after having read so much from and about her on cs. we went out for dinner and hours passed like minutes - we talked and talked and talked, then marcus joined and we talked even more. shai is a clever girl, very curious and simply a cool person to hang out with. i'm still annoyed that i was too sick to host her, but who knows - maybe next time?

shai.. ! lol i am short of words for her.. a wonderful human being.. i had wonderful time with her at pushkar.. and i can say that she will be one great friend i ever met, i really have no words to write much about her.. haha

I wanted to meet her long ago because I was eager to know how a person looks like who is so dedicated towards CS. I am much impressed by her simplicity and way of involving in CS. Though officially Ciro and I was organizer of the Pushkar CS meeting- 2007 but it is Shai who organized the meeting everyday during the fair and I was a mere participant in it. Had the Shai had not there the CS meet would not have took place (as it was).
I learnt many things from her and it was great to meet her. I can say that she is CS assets. I invited to visit her at my town but due to unavoidable circumstances she could not, but I am sure that she will visit me next time.

shai was a wonderful person to host and is an inspiring global citizen whose optimism will brighten your day if you ever get the chance to met her.

Shai was not able to give us a couch this time, but gave us her friendship and invaluable advice about Mumbai and India. Great conversation over much needed coffee and Diwali sweets!

I met ShAi* in Delhi and she brought a little bit of magic to my time there and was destined to be there when I needed moral support most.

When the opportunity arose to surf her couch in Bombay, I jumped at the opportunity. I just had an instant connection and spent many memorable moments with her - among others doing a barefoot pilgramage in Elephanta because my shoe broke. ShAi* didn't walk in my shoes but went barefoot for solidarity. She made my stay with her extremely pleasant and coloured Bombay with a rich palet and warm and abundant weaving!

Didi - I am waiting for the next time destiny brings our paths together!

Shai is so incredible!! She arrived in Wellington at 23:30 and we stayed up chatting until 6:30 before deciding we both needed to sleep rather badly. I love chatting to her, she has amazing stories, and even better advice. I promise not to leave her on the train today.... (I will try, but I am forgetful you know??)!!

Leaving a reference for Shai is like drop in the ocean. It was a wonderful experience to host her in Delhi. The best part of her is that she does not take even a second to make even a kid feel comfortable as she always takes the initiatve to start the conversation. Can't recommend her enough......

Shai knows soooo much about CS and you can talk to her for ages cos she has an opinion on everything. She enjoys meeting new people and spending a lot of time with her hosts. She also knows how to treat swans in a way they don't become bitches immediately!

Writing references for Shai would be like adding some drops to an ocean. But then can't resist the temptation to write a reference for her after just 1 meeting. Long talks on CS, culture, travel, world politics, books and we realised how similar we are. One thing is for sure, Shai is what I call the quintessential nomad and lives upto it. I surely look forward to the planned trips with her.

Shai is such a wonderful host, I had fun for hours at her apartment with wonderful food, good wine, and even better companionship.
Update 2007:
Shai lived with us as a true roommate/friend, and it was awesome. She is first and foremost a true friend that I'm certain I'll know for years to come :-) There aren't enough words to even adequately describe Shai, just meet her, get to know her, and if you're smart enough you'll understand :-)

Shai is wicked awesome. We spent two days in the Blue Mountains walking and slipping and sliding and looking at birds hanging upside down in the rain. My recommendation to you is:

Step one: meet Shai. Step two: Bathe in the warmth radiating from her Inner Spirit. Step three: Walk away smiling like a bastid. :-D

i met shai in bombay 1 of my favorite cities on CS meeting and i dare to say we liked each other from that moment... her enthusiasm and broad knowledge of many things make her very interesting and fun to hang out with. shai can enjoy active as well as non active time..she came to surf my couch for few days and then returnetd to prague to stay with 1 of my friends. since i had been hosting another friend of mine. i had the oportunity and pleasure of her company while she was in prague on many occassions and i am looking forward to meeting with her and surf her couch in bombay on my next india trip...

Three words. Love, Warmth and Intelligence. All in the same package that makes up this woman. Kind of like an Kinderegg. Shai is a wonderful person who is always close to a laugh and curious about stuff. We went and saw titties together and laughed at the other spectators! :)

Soooo Shai* what can I say that hasn't been said? Not much I guess. Shai* stood me up on many many occassions and came to visit recently. We have had some amazing conversations online and now off. She is a Couchsurfer to the core. She can talk a lot but is afraid to swim in the cold Attersee. She is a friend and good guest, simple as that.

We had a very nice beer at Mercado Negro. God! She's talkative.

We met at the NZ Collective where she was working hard (and hosting us) along with the other volunteers. There I met a wonderful girl with lots of potato caiprinha experience. We have since blazed the party trail in Salzburg ("I think you should leave now...":) and got to hang out in cellars of dodgy pubs, coffee bars and flex in Vienna. Shai* rocks.

ShAi and I spent hours talking and discussing CS and working on the new logo (gave some feedback*gg*) and than talked long and also on the next day....
Look forward to meet her again and she is always welcome back.

I love Shai!!! She's an amazing and beautiful woman (inside and out). From the first time you meet her you can feel the positive aura just streaming out of her. She is glad to express this with an awestrucking smile. She is fun and great to talk to. And apparently with both have simiular clepto tendencies which will result to us slipping a plastic banana or a pear into our bags. I hope to see you soon biatch :) .

Wonderful sense of humour, great conversationalist and that type of person u wanna have by your side while traveling. Or while she's traveling. Or actually it doesn't matter - u just don't want her to be too far away :) she's just soooo much fun to be around. And keep in mind that Shai is (what should be taken as a compliment) badly addicted and totally dedicated to CS.
