Alessandro Cabella

Alessandro is a very nice guy from Genova, one of my favourite Italian cities, and well, there he's the most active guy :) I met Ale in Milano at the Mi too meeting in September 2008, then we met again for the AMBCS aperitive and sushi. Always great and smart guy to talk with, always taking photos like me :D see you soon, maybe in Genova!

Alessandro is a very hospitable person. He is funny and open. I will never forget the pizza we had together and even more the family lunch with him and his mother. Thank you!

Alessandro is a very good person! I surfed by him for two days and I feel a princess! He always smiles and has a lot of wonderful ideas. At present I meet him for a coffee or a drink or for a walk in the most hidden and wonderful corners of the "caruggi" in Genova. It could happen that we'll become vampires or pirates... ;-)

Well, Ale spent quite a bit of time trying to convince me (against my logical, fact-based scientific arguments) that Animal is human. And he talked to me like one talkes to a friend. And he was just simply wonderful host. Gentle, trustworthy, warm, understanding, what do you want more? ;)

Update: I went back to his place. There must be some magic in the air since it is the place where I always manage to work one week's worth in one day. I guess it's because it's so easy to feel like home with Ale.

Alessandro is a really nice guy, very gentle, helpful and easy going! He hosted me for one night in his wonderful flat – downtown Genova. We hang out with other CS for the NOTTE BIANCA. The day after we’ve been to the beach in S. Margherita Ligure and we had dinner in his parents’ house – very kind people!

All started with concidence when i was siting with a friend of mine in the caffee and by chance...Alessandro was in the nearest table. What a joke of destiny it was!He is very helpfull (especially in crashing locks!:))),funny and extremely kind guy.I think we would see each other again cause Milano and Genova are so close:)))

We met twice in Genoa, trough the GENOVA e DINTORNI Group... he is the real AMBASSADOR, and I hope we can organize soon something to make Genoa more and more CS addicted! hehehe

We met in Genova during my trip around Liguria. We spent a nice evening together eating and chating with him and the other CS guest.He left us his keys so we wrere independent. It'sbeen nice to meet him.

Allessandro was fabulous, he stayed really consistent as I was trying to make it from Venice to Genoa all summer and kept running into scheduling conflict. Alas, it was worth it. I made it to Cinque Terre, almost as beutiful as Venice, and I owe it all to Allessandro. He even bought me cappucino in the morning.

Allesandro is a breath of fresh air. He continued to be willing to host me,and pro-actively got back to me continuously so that I could stay in Genoa. I didnt get to spend much time with him but I hope we cross paths again

I have both hosted and been hosted by Ale. He made me visit Genova , taste Genova's culinary specialties, gave me some useful advice for my trip... He's a really nice guy, talkative and always willing to help, perfect host and guest. You're welcome back anytime!

Although I had mixed up the date of our arrival, Alessandro kindly hosted me and my wife for one night and gave us some useful advice for what to see in Genoa (by the way - we LOVED the city), a very friendly guy for sure, sorry we didn't see much of you because of the already mentioned mix-up

Alessandro is great host, he makes you feel at home in his beautiful and extraordinaryflat in the center of Genova. We have some common passions: Mare, Focaccia, Manu Chao and CS - however I have to say, he is one of the biggest CS champion I have ever met - so I cannot make any paragones with myself. Alessandro lets you in his home and gives you insight to his life, through meeting with friends, cooking for you and showing you around in this city just above the sea :-)

We met by 'coincidence' and had a great time! It was at the end of June that we went to the SUQ festival in Genova where we had a nice international dinner with some other CS-friends. The next day we had a nice chat at the San Lorenze square. Always smiling and laughing, an extremly positive person!

My brother and I stayed with Ale for one night in Genova. Ale is a great guy and wonderful host. He took us to a great pizzeria nearby which was very cool! Hopefully he will make a trip to Minnesota next time he is in the US.

Alessandro is a great guy, intelligent and fun. I met him in CS, and we had dinner together in Genoa, with some friends. It was a great time! However, be careful with him: he can destroy your taste for Van Gogh. Now, I just can see Van Gogh paitings like a big vector field =P . Anyway, he is a great chef =) . Grazie!!! Ciao.

Alessandro is the CS spirit himself. I shared a wonderful weekend in Rome hosting him in my small flat. We got a lot of fun cooking, eating, walking, visiting exhibitions, sharing art, meeting people, watching footballmatches and talking talking talking.

He is one of the most easy going, sensitive, polite and sweet guy I have ever met. Plus you always have the sensation that you know him from edges! I truly recommend Alessandro, he is just a wonderful person! See you soon, and you know already that whenever you want you are welcome at my place, ok? A presto!!!

Now I was for 3 days in Genova. I spent a wonderfull time with Alessandro we went to Nervi and met some friends. We visited also a great african market even if I was ill in the stomach! It was a great pleasure to be together with Alessandro, the CS-Boss of Genova. Now it is your turn to come to Wiesbaden. Il migliore per te!!

Ale is a great guy, when my friend and I first arrived we did not know how to get to his house so he meet us at the bus station and had dinner waiting for us! Very sweet and fun, we got to go and have a real Italian lunch with his parents! A very great man, happy to host him with he comes to California.

Alessandro hosted my friend and I for a night with only a few hours notice. We went out for dinner and had a nice time. He also trusted us with house keys which was very useful and appreciated!

Although he's grown up, he's young at heart and very open-minded, plenty of resources and initiative, despite he's a bit shy (and girls go crazy for that!).

We had a great time on a day trip to Santa Margherita and Portofino, and my friend and I really enjoyed cooking dinner for him one night. He is always welcome to stay with us in San Francisco!

Im not sure if Genua would be so charming and friendly without Ale's smile:)He was extremly helpfull and nice,it was my first couch experience and I even didn't expect it would be so positive:)and there is a chance we will meet somewhere ..Padova,Poland,Sardinia...who knows?:)

Alessandro is a nice person ... he is caring and kind to all people ... we didn't have so much time to know each other well, it was just one night and before he was busy in the BCN counter invasion, may be next time.
I think also there was a language barrier between us ... because my Italian is not so good.

Just met Alessandro a couple of times, but circumstances haven't let us share more than few time. I realized is a camera-addicted guy ;o) and he has a big heart. We'll meet for sure several times again!

Alessandro was an amazing host. He leads an incredibly busy life but encouraged us to join him. We did. He gave us a glance of his life. It was wonderful. He has a wonderful couch and a wonderful heart. Hopefully one day he will surf our couch when we have one. Thanks Ale

Met this funny and kind guy in a Milan Picnic, and by chance i sat next to him first, so we had the pleasure to discover that we have many things in common other than the passion for coloured glasses... hope to meet him again in front of a big slice of Focaccia di Recco. Thank you Ale!!!
Update 08/27/2007: and fiunally we met in Genova, not for focaccia but for something like a dinner in a ehm... embarassing place but still we managed to have great fun. After saying he would've hosted 1, he eventually hosted 4 with no problem!!! This is an example for everyone of us!!!
Update 10/23/2007: hosted him for Mirtillina's Graduation Party, and of course he was a perfect guest, shooting nice pictures and enterteining everyone with his respectful humour.
March 2008 Update: Ale hosted me, Mirtillina and Giovanna for a funny night around Genova. He brought us to good Trofie and Ravioli with fish stuffing, and organic beer. The day after, he stuffed me with fogassa and tried to keep me away from CDs giving me wrong informations... but he couldn't help! :-P

Ale is a very friendly person. We unfortunately spend much too less time since he had quite much to do. Still he invited us for breakfast, cooked for us and even left us a key so we could leave his home after him. Ales apartment was a very comfortable place to stay. It was nice to meet another Dream Theater fan! Maybe we'll meet in Berlin :)

Intense moments!Time was runned but I got a nice view & I smelt a nice porfume of Genova with Ale. He helped me, with a such kind way, to tuch whatever I wanted and also to get some news about Liguria' s Cost and Harbor efficiency.I wait him for dancing samba!

I met Alessandro several times, first in Punta Chiappa meeting summer 07, close to his place and then when he's been caming up to Torino, usually hosted in Ale's house. I know him as a very nice, intersresting, coltivated, smart and reliable person that puts him where he is in his role of Ambassador for Genova, and despite his very quiet ways I know he likes and knows how to enjoy with people and have fun. I'm sure we are going to have many occasions to have good time togheter.

I hosted Alessandro fro a last minute surf and it was a great pleasure: he's really smart, considerate and sensitive; besides he arrived with "focaccia" directly from Genoa.....delicious and the morning after we had my favourite breakfast: capuccino and focaccia!!! it reminded my childhood.....wow!!!!

We met in Torino for a very funny dinner, with a lot of Couchsurfers!!! The firt impression i had was very positive and at the end of the eveninf it was confirmed!!!!! ps. I like his pictures :-)

I first met Alessandro in Italy 2007 for the Vico lake camp outside Roma and then we met again in Switzerland in 2008 for the CS Paella meeting.

Ale is a very interesting and sensitive guy, he loves theatre and we spent hours speaking about it, first because we saw a play in Genoa, then because he showed me the play script of his theatre classes and he teached me tricks to play a role!! He was extremely kind to me and I had a very nice time with him at the electro music festival and at the sea, another of his big passion.. he swims like a fish!!! ;)

UPDATE: I finally hosted him at my place!! we went together to a metal music concert that I really appreciated!! thanks for getting me involved, I think I would have never tried it if it wasn't for you!!

I've met Alessandro first at hike meeting in Val di Susa but I had the chance to talk more with him at the picknick gathering in Milan! Such a lovely guy! He accepted to be integrated in human pyramid! Hope to see him again perhaps in Liguria!!

Alessandro is my City Ambassador, to me he is an Institution!!!Just kidding!I met him during a Cs meeting in Genova and I really enjoyed to talk by person with him. He is a very lively guy with a great sense of humor.

even though my stay was short, ale was such a kind and generous host to me. he is friendly, easy-going, and genuinely interested when talking to people. i had a great time talking, eating together, and even salsa dancing. he also gave me great city recommendations when he was busy working - thank you! i hope to host you in the united states someday soon (after ireland ;) ).

My first memory in Genova will always be Alessandro's enormous smile when he came trotting down the street. Always on the verge of laughing, we had an awesome time and some great conversations.

We met a couple of time, and he helped me to host some last minute guest showing all his kindness and avalability towards others.
