About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To grasp life by the horns and tame it!

ABOUT ME

I am very curious about the world, and want to experience as much of it as possible. At home my favourite hobby is hiking in the mountains and along the coast, and I help to run a walking club where I organise group walks and trips in Wales and around the UK.

PHILOSOPHY

In terms of couchsurfing, I believe that meeting people from different backgrounds can give you a different perspective on your own world as well as theirs.

Life is what you make it.

I believe we are animals like all the other animals, just more advanced in our own ways. I don`t believe there is anything after this life, so for that reason it is important to make the most of our short time on Earth.

You should have freedom to do what you want to, as long as it doesn`t harm anyone, or anything else.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I didn't know anything about Couchsurfing until a fellow Couchsurfing friend from France introduced me to the concept and came to couchsurf with me in the UK. Since then I have been couchsurfing around Japan and now I host Couchsurfers at my place and help them to experience the local environment and culture.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I really enjoy couchsurfing, hosting and meeting couchsurfers, and have had shared some great times with people from all over the world. It's an amazing experience to see someone look at your own surroundings with fresh eyes, it makes you realise a lot, and it can feel like travelling without leaving your home! All I would ask from people who come to stay is that they leave a reference for me if they can, it's useful for me and my potential hosts to know the feedback, good or bad!

Music, Movies, and Books

Favourite book of all time; Cloud Atlas by David Mitchell. I also like books by Ian McEwan.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I nearly died falling on a mountain. I was very lucky to escape any serious injury (although the bruises were pretty painful!) The experience made me feel like I had been given a second chance, it also made me realise that life is very fragile.

Teach, Learn, Share

I want to improve my Japanese and French.

I am able to help other people learn English.

I am able to teach people about the local environment where I live and possibly take them on hikes in the surrounding countryside.
