Personal DescriptionI am composed of the vernacular known as god, limitless with potential and limitlessly flawed. I walk myself up hills, slip on banana peals, return to my feet with an "a" flat flute, make myself home in a kingdom of self constraints, then rebel. A famous author I know calls it, "living in hell". I smile for no reason, laugh underneath my breath, a deceiving site, for I cry behind the curtain from my heart being torn. Violet rays of light illuminate inner silence as I surf purple gong waves to heal from the violence. I wear a special shirt when I misbehave, that is the rule, but I break it. Underneath my lies I'm naked and unafraid. I play myself like a game, and until the wisdom catches, I'll settle for being sane. I'm honest when its safe and passionate with my lies, self preservation comes at a price. The mask is my game. The past is my vice. Setting fire to the rules is my self abuse. Silence is my remedy. Addiction is my noose. Poetry is my charm. I am (followed by (any word here)) is my indulgence, the absorption of which has paid for an orange phone and an orange car. My word is a pen and the pages are everyone's hearts. From mine to their's, the circle is complete with language in between, my mission... to read the sacred geometry, the vernacular known as god, but until then, laugh... for being so flawed. How I Participate in CS2I don't often, in fact, some would agree I am the least active couchsurfing ambassador on planet Earth. But, when I do participate, I do so on a large scale. I enjoy bringing city groups together in a way that creates a lasting active community. Plus, when I travel it gives me more than one place to stay. Yes, self interest again!
CouchSurfing ExperienceLots and lots! I generally don't remember specifics about things. InterestsI am interested in the things I do and don't like. It makes no sense to say something you don't like is uninteresting if it draws a strong enough reaction to warrant dislike, unless the reason you dislike the particular thing is because it is uninteresting. In no particular order of preference I'm into poetry, the smell of cedar, hallucinogenic experiences, underwater photography, almost anything obscene, intoxicated people of Russian nationality, mountain hiking, shamanic journeys, yoga, spontaneous acts of leaving the country, spontaneous acts of leaving my body, buddhism, titan triggerfish, midnight walks through rainforests without light, wild animals, near death experiences, homelessness, storytellers, old souls, beach parties, tree climbing, monastic life, post modern philosophy, southern baptist church services, nudity, conspiracy theories, realities coined as conspiracy theories, energy healing, sexual urges, sacred geometry, maps, Montreal, the everglades, the sonoran desert, the amazon basin, cliff jumping, volcanoes of any kind (preferably erupting), pornography, photography, insects, golden thoughts, germs, golden ratios, Kilauea, triathlon, sustainability, robin hood like acts, Tungurahua, silence, nihilism, existentialism, big words, Tequila, Nudity, Hitchiking, Cheap Diners, Poety on bathroom stalls, Getting high and reading road signs backwards, Thunderstorms/hurricanes/tornadoes, Total Silence, Near Death experiences, Wordless music, Cliff Jumping, Slam Poetry floetry grow a tree, Fearlessness. Respect for experience. Storytellers. Appreciators. Old souls, lovers, haters, lessons appear in all shapes and sizes. It's OK to pull the emergency brake during a non-emergency. EMERGE. Cry in front of me. Boldness, black, white, rainbow. Inner light spectrum. Confessions, questions, I have few answers for your logical mind because it makes no sense to walk through the rain forest without food, water, or any source of light. I love you.
PhilosophyAnd I belong to the offspring of stars, celestial movements producing gravity attaches me to the Earth in physicality through birth, like a priest sworn to church or a storm incarcerated to the troposphere. Reality is neither here nor there but only what you choose to declare as the who why what when and where that bears benefit more then consequence, there is no difference between defile or cleanse when determined by man made mandates manufactured to manage the minds of men, there is no difference between an inch and a mile or any given distance granted the offspring of stars is connected. Determining fact is precisely how reality is disrespected. There is no sure fact. Let choice be respected, conclusions be rejected, when voice is a young belly dancer amid a timid suburbanite crowd, it doesn’t need treatment like cancer, it needs to be spoken loud and proud and open, there is no such thing as outspoken or devotion to the wrong cause, when justifying cause is an effect of cause which effectively causes progress to be lost in right or wrong. That shit is the same old song that’s been playing too long. Nature determines the life span of Earth, what are we trying to save Earth from? Death befalls regardless. I believe it to be a moment of light, not darkness. This is not an end, merely the means to how I start this argument against arguing to convince those who contend that opinions are decisions based on facts that can not bend, underneath the absolute truth of god, who and how does a human dictate which reality is flawed? When in fact the fact less matter of fact is a decision based on the minds of men, scripture is written in ink from pen, and then abbreviated translated and mandated to contaminate faith with an onslaught of sexism, bigotry, and hate, accounting for absence of our nature, where in this day is our intuitive state, accountability for absence of awareness, ascertaining axioms, authenticity, accuracy, asserting analysis against action, adaptability and answering aboriginal amenability as if this land was our fucking own, do you need it to come to a no fly zone, before you see your home transformed into a prison without trees that breathes smoke out from towers when it exhales will you cower underneath unlimited power that is showered down from a president who wears a crown and claims there are environmental benefits from acid rain. Will you react when the FACT is that nature has been slain?
.......and I belong to the offspring of stars, where particles bombard the Earth's face and scar in a place where freedom waits behind jail bars.

Comprende?? Types of People I enjoyOverall, I enjoy most living beings made of vibrating particles, whether they be human, insect, amphibian, mammalian, etc.. If I could have an innocuous relationship with viruses, I would enjoy viruses too. Sometimes people have even experienced me having in depth conversations with inanimate objects, and to be honest, I enjoy objects. For instance, if a toy bear in a store gets separated from the other toy bears and I can't find the bin it belongs to, I will have to buy that toy bear so that it isn't alone and isolated from its toy bear friends and family. Only if I find a group of three or four other toy bears will I leave them all on a box together somewhere in the store for the staff to find and relocate back to their family and friends living in the bin they were separated from. Not too long ago I was conversing with Granny Smith, Red Delicious, and Nashi apples in order to forge the gap between different breeds and create a diverse group of friends. So, I enjoy objects, living beings, and even space, especially when its full of big fat rain drops, confetti falling from ceilings, and orange reddish sunlight falling from the sky... Teach, Learn, ShareI can show you how to breathe, well... the way a Buddhist monk may teach you, Anapanasati (mindfulness in breath), I can teach you how to Scuba Dive and how to wrestle certain aquatic life forms, how to cultivate power plants, and survive in the desert in case you ever decide to take a shamanic voyage into the arid regions of the world. Would love to learn more about yoga, alchemy, myth, and anything obscure. One Amazing Thing I've Seen or DoneI have lived in one place for more than 6 consecutive months without leaving, amazing! From Joshua Adair Austin, United States Aug 6 Positive Everytime Philla and I meet it seems we're on the same destiny track and are going to get some huge shit accomplished. Then we dont see eachother for a couple months. But the frequency is increasing, and I think our gift to the world is soon to be manifested in 3d, starting in Austin and spreading like the measles all over the world. Hes a powerful creative original spontaneous deep reflective joyous slightly crazed being that I always enjoy and learn from
From David Jenkins Caledon, Canada Apr 21 Positive Phila Manila is like a smile of conviction, determination, and pure will, dancing inside one of those bottles with a neck so small, you wonder how the heck all that jazz snook inside. He's like a wild ride on a moonlit evening, smoothing out wrinkles in time, leaping thoughtless on clouds that engulf watercress and peppermint. He makes fire from sparks of flint, and flickers like a firefly. And when he freestyles, he does so with the guile of an old sage, playing gently with words and wonder like a small child, meanwhile his style breaks it down like bile, and creates lyrical mosaics out of phosphorescent tile. Keep on dancing the chimichanga you rambling wrangler, we'll catch each other on the flip flop.
From Andrew MacDonald Nelson, New Zealand Jan 22 Positive Grewat guy and a passion for making the world a better place.

From Ivan Davidov Vienna, Austria May 21, 2007 Positive Nice, intelligent, devoted, friendly, attentive. These are qualities what doesn't have everyone. He has some opinion which are unusually extreme although, they are perfectly fair and make Phill only more interesting. Very delightful company. Thank you for the nice time.

From NOMAD POET Black Rock City, United States Mar 14, 2007 Positive Here is a person who has absolute faith in the world we believe in. If you are a walker on the path seeking others like you I highly recommend hanging with Philla and bonding for a while. Every moment was intense, invigorating, and treasured.
From AQUARIUS Quezon City, Philippines Mar 13, 2007 Positive Philla is a gregarious and very outgoing guy. Very easy to like..
that's why he has tons of friends.
Creative, adventurous and very helpful.
Avid photographer and will take picture
of everything. Get your release forms
ready :-) Your face may appear on "TIME"
magazine someday.
From STAMP Hunker, United States Mar 11, 2007 Positive So one this guy e-mails me randomly out of the blue. couple of messages exchanged and forgotten about. Little did we know we would run into each other more then a year later in NZ. Crazy times, bum smacken, and leg humpin. Besides that a very sweet, caring man. Philla as they say "Rocks" and I would have to say they are not misguided. Someday we will meet again in a forest of pretty colors...
From AM Cortez Tokyo, Japan Mar 8, 2007 Positive The moment you meet Phil you can easily tell he's awesome. Don't be fooled by the humor on his CS page.. he's even funnier in person! Though I only got to hang with him for one night. Well, we'll see each other again!
From the rachel Berkeley, United States Mar 8, 2007 Positive Holy Shit. Philla is wild & wacky, spastic, karmic, pooptastic, SWAYZE (or, Swayzlehoff, to me) & brave. I don't know anyone else like him. We've had the brilliant fortune of meeting up several times, & I hope there are many more to come. The verra least I can ever say is "Philla is the 1st person I ever surfed with - HOW LUCKY DID I GET!?" - but, really, he is my dear friend, & he means so much more than that.
The old reference:
You should surf with Philla if:
-You hate small talk & want to get to the good conversation immediately.
-You meditate, see auras, dabble with crystals, or believe in the universal consciousness.
-You can promise yourself you won't steal his cat after falling in love with him.
-You love public spectacle.
-Talking about bodily functions is of no embarrassment or consequence to you.
Philla is the 1st person I ever surfed with, & I couldn't have asked for a better host. He gives a shit about the world but isn't as pretentiously serious about it (as I sometimes am). I feel like I've known him forever. I hope I know him forever.
And I managed to not steal his cat.
Although I REALLLY wanted to.
From ronniegatsby Manila, Philippines Mar 7, 2007 Positive Phil's a riot - lots of fun right there, Beyonce!
From za-bel Avignon, France Feb 14, 2007 Positive Philla!!! ... makes the most boring of times into the most fascinating of times :) I am still impressed by his patience, his involvement in understanding what surrounds him/us, and his really short hair... He could become an airport security agent if he'd like, or an elderly little supermarket lady, but if he stays Philla Dilla, he'll always be welcome to wherever I am.
From Kirsty Sarah Christchurch, New Zealand Feb 13, 2007 Positive I feel really fortunate to have met Philla before he hightailed it outta NZ. He's quite a guy - boundless energy and enthusiasm and positivity radiating from each pore. I would have liked to spend more time with him, so hopefully he'll come back with his family and friends. He's the person you can't help but taking an instant liking to. (Very creative with luggage arrangements at airports also.)
Thanks for filling a short space of time with a lot of laughs!
From KEITHWANDERS Atlanta, United States Feb 12, 2007 Positive Phil shaved my head and gave me my first piggy back ride in 15 years. That's called bonding! He's got an intensity and inner light that's fun to watch. Glad to be a part of his amazing journey. I'll miss the totally non gay cuddling.
From OMG_IT'S_JULIE!!! San Francisco, United States Feb 10, 2007 Positive I always tell him I love him cause it's true, even if he's always out of the house! He lets me hump his side from time to time and rub his head whenever I want! He's Swayzetastic, extremly funny and I love him. I'm really glad to know Philla, he's a ray of Swayzeness brightening up my life!
From Lightning Boy Oldenburg, Germany Jan 25, 2007 Positive We only met short but he seems to be a great person. had some exchange about fear and risks...
From Jean-Francois Bernier Quebec, Canada Jan 22, 2007 Positive eclectic, psychedelic, frenetic!!! An exceptional person in many respects, an individual in the true sense of the word. Phil is intelligent, witty, edgy and really damn generous (he furnished half my flat). He's a laid-back no bullshit kinda guy who's always up for fun, random craziness and interesting conversation. He's challenging, replete with potential and I certainly look forward to getting to know him better. and ay! I must admit, we have a propensity for drinking...
From Gary Farr Koh Tao, Thailand Jan 16, 2007 Positive Impressed me within the short walk from town to my house, and hope he comes back seams to be a interesting charecter
From Pete Forbes Newton Abbot, United Kingdom Jan 8, 2007 Positive You always meet one or two interesting people when travelling from "A to B" ! And Phil was definately one of those guys who intregues you from his first word!! We had a strange coinsidence that led both our paths to the Town of 1770 where the coinsidences carried on!! Phil is a happy cheeky chappy....haha.... and full of life!! A true Positive thinker !
From Luis Enrique Navarro Vazquez Tuxtla Gutierrez, Mexico Oct 21, 2006 Positive Phil is a extremly friendly guy. Really easygoing and outgoing. I really had a good time chatting with him. I felt like if I had Known him for ages. We talked about everything, even about family and sharks, yes he is going to dive with some Sharks and eels in Thailand and I know he is going to do it because he has a lot of energy. He is always welcome to visit Chiapas and hope we can meet soon. Cheers Phil
From IN-BLUE Fort Covington, United States Aug 3, 2006 Positive Faery Wings and Simon Says. I knew Phil before an e-mail blew my way, hit and missed, got my cheeks pinched (grr), then yelled a conversation. He's a funkadelic, mohawk-wearing (yes you can say that), meditating, whats-my-aura, vinyl spinning amazement that lets his freak flag fly. And I couldn't be happier that I finally met him. I got a chance to crash with him at the Mtl gathering. When you can sit in your fantasy bed with four other people, listening to the greatest singers break and pop on vinyl, when its 6:00 in the morning but timeless and have a conversation that loops and spins and shoots off in another direction, when you're the kind of tired that brings laughter to anything and never want to sleep but want to talk about the dreams you'll have, when you have one of those sunday afternoons that will stick in your mind as a truly great day, when you can play simon-says in front of a busfull of irate americans....you know you've met a wonder. He feels like family. Trust me, if you don't stay with him at least once, you'll always be left lacking.
But yeah...the bathroom is trippy.
From Janine Cushnie Sydney, Australia Jul 31, 2006 Positive Phil allowed me to escape from my reality in a time of need. And for that, I thank him.
From Shelley B Toronto, Canada Jul 19, 2006 :) Philla Dilla's............ I surfed with this dude 3 times in MTL. got off to a rocky start, but really he's not the prick that I so desperately wanted him to be:) he's got a comfy couch, crazy ass bathroom(it freaked me out when my underwear glowed in the dark!)an amazing roommate, and a cat who knows how to open the front door. Thanks Phil for all ur hospitality..... hope to see u again soon and not just because u have my scarf and guiness t-shirt:)
From Tina E Poley Sacramento, United States Jul 19, 2006 Last minute surfer. 1:30am I get a message from this Canadian kid stuck at the airport and I'm the only Sacramento surfer online. Seriously, it was my lucky day. Less than 24hours later, and after Santa Fe skillets, sweet potato pancakes, burritos, & stimulating conversation, I left him at the greyhound station. He epitomizes the couchsurfing vibe. Spur of the moment is always more fun, and with Phillip, its totally crazy. Come back anytime!
From Rod Deal Miami, United States Jul 19, 2006 True.... Ive crashed on phil's COach fo Many moons, along with his cat Moish....His couch is about as comfortable as my bed and Phil's Probably the definition of a best friend.... you want to experience a great city and meet a greater person then check out Phil who is one of those rare people who attracts people who are one in a million allll the time...

From Aden Mac Narre Warren, Australia Jul 19, 2006 Reference time! Crashed at Phils house after a very big night and i have to say that his place is VERY comfy....his psychadelic bathroom scared me a bit though...gave me nightmares.
