we have been helping out together in two work camp of a local NGO. Helpful person, not afraid to cook for 30 people. well she's an "ambassador", I think she doesn't need any reference...

Setta is such a sincere and generous person. She opened her home to me and made me so welcomed. I wish I lived nearby so we could hang out all the time!

Setta and Bjarni always squeezed us in - no matter what. Even on the shortest notice! We spent brillant days at their flat that somehow worked as a couchsurfing-hub this summer. They are defnitely one reason for us to go back to Iceland.

Setta was a great host. Even though I didn't get to spend all that much time with here while staying at her place, we got to chat at the Reykjavik couchsurfing meeting. She's friendly and interesting and I´m very glad to have been able to meet her.

I stayed with 3 friends at Setta's and Bjarni's place in Reykjavik before we started on our hiking/camping trip at Landmannalaugar.
It's amazing how hospitable Setta is, cramming 4 people into her small apartment, even though she has to work all day - thanks a lot!
She has a cat that knows how to use the toilet, and a guest book with hundreds of Couchsurfers already in it.

Setta was a great host! She was able to give us a lot of great advice about our trip, the accommodations were great, and she introduced us to interesting people. She definitely made my trip to Iceland more rewarding.

I've met Setta in a CS meeting downtown. We had an interesting talk about language, attitudes and a lot more. She's a friendly girl, really interesting and fun to talk to. We'll sure see each other around again in Reykjavik!

Wow. I couldn't have asked for someone more welcoming than Setta to be my first contact in Iceland! When I first arrived, I wasn't to be hosted by her and her boyfriend Bjarni for another week, but on my very first day in Iceland, Setta answered to my call for someone to hang out and do some shopping with. She took me to the good spots, invited me to join in an evening with her friends, introduced me to the 'scene' downtown, and that was only the first day! Setta and Bjarni were such easy-going, friendly, and generous hosts. Takk Takk fyrir allt! I'll bring you beer next time... maybe see you in October? :D

My experience has been short but sweet. Came along to a CS group she organised to go together to the Reykjavik pride parade. . . This friendly girl made me feel at ease, welcomed and accepted in two seconds.

Setta was my main point of contact when preparing for my first Iceland trip, which also included staying at her place twice. It's great to come to a totally new country and be welcomed with such ease, as if we would be flatmates. Thank you for the welcoming open arms and all the help, which influenced my Iceland experience a lot.

I surfed Setta's and Bjorni's couch for two nights (well, actually one because I didn't go to sleep the other night). It was an awesome couchsurfing experience and I can definitely recommend their couch. Too bad I didn't see you in NASA (it's a night club) any more. Thanks a lot for the good time.

Setta and Bjarni hosted them for our first couch surfing experience and they made us very confortable. They are helpfull and prevenent people, we really enjoyed staying in ther appartement and doing what we want during the clear evening in reykjavik.

A really lovely person, who hosted us at short notice after problems with another surfer. She made me feel really at home from the moment I walked through the door.

I stayed at Settas place for 2 nights. She is very welcoming and really makes you feel safe and comfortable. Even met us at the nearby bus station to walk us to her place. I really enjoyed staying there and I and super gracious that she let us into her home.

Setta and Bjarni were fantastic hosts, welcoming and helpful. They even gave me a hand when I was in trouble and I can't thank them enough for that. I had a blast in Reykjavik.

Setta is a very warm and sweet person with a good energy. She is a good cook and gives you all the help you need. We went for a late evening swim in one of the good swimmingpools in Reykjavik together with her boyfriend. It was so good to stay with these people!

Though we could not spend much time at there house as we were taking day trips almost everyday...we could rest well in their bedroom which has a very good collection of books! We had a good time interacting with Setta and Bjarni...hope we can meet again soon

I´ve met Setta on several CS meetings. That she´s an CS ambassador tells a lot about the CS spirit she´s possessed with :) We frequently host the same people and they all speak highly of her and Bjarni. She´s helpful, open and very active in the CS community in Iceland.

what can i say about setta, her fabulous boyfriend bjarni and her lovely cat freja? they are just great! after a long period of "only" hosting, i was kinda nervous before doing some surfing myself, but setta and bjarni welcomed me and claudia so warm and friendly, that all the stress was gone soon. they are amazing people, smart, witty, with a great sense of humour and a kind of unlimited generousity. i'm so glad they decided to join me and claudia in our road trip to the skaftafell national park, because after these two great days, i felt we had really become what i treasure most: friends. i count so much on seeing them again, either in vienna (please come and visit!) or in iceland or somewhere else in the great wide world. thanks so much guys for being who you are!

Setta and Bjarni are such a delightful couple with one chatty kitty kat. Setta is such a fabulous girl who seems to overflow with such generosity to help others. Bjarni is just the same like giving me a lift to my next couchsurfing hosts place for example and taking the time to walk with me around the town and tell me stories about Reyjavik. Setta and Bjarni are wonderful people who i highly recommend.

Bjarni and Setta were very easy to talk to and they were incredibly helpful during our trip with our 'errands'. I hope they will visit me one day in Asutralia!

Setta took us under her wing for our first night in Iceland, before we went off for a 6-day self-drive around Iceland. She is full of local tips and advices, a great and reliable hostess you don't want to miss!

For a few days there, my sister and I lived in Setta's house while she didn't (Canada strikes again), which was a strange first Couchsurfing experience...but all was made right when we finally met up and crashed with her the night of the Bjork/Sigur Ros concert. Loads of good feeling. They're great people and great cat.

My friend Mandy and I lived at Setta's home in June 08. Setta and her boyfriend were very kind and friendly. We were given their home's key the first day we arrived. They also gave us travel tips and ideas, making our trip better than ever. On the last night that we were staying, we had a nice, warm chat. I was also served with Setta's favourite tea in her tea collection.

Thanks to Setta, my first couchsurfing experience was a big success.

Setta and Bjarni are amazing. Although they've been to Canada at that time they let us stay for a couple of nights in their beautiful and cosy appartment.
Luckily we got the chance to meet them in person some weeks later and such a lovely time!!!
They also gave us useful tips where to go (or where to get a wedding present...) and we did not only learn that you can teach your cat to use your toilet but also how you make these warm sheep-wool-and-leather-gloves...
Setta and Bjarni offered us to stay although they already had the appartment full of couch surfers - and they did this not only once but twice. (And if that was not enough, they also let me occupy their living room and Setta's computer for more than a day so that I could finish a 'project').

Setta and Bjarni were my first real live couch surfing hosts, and my only complaint is I'm worried that no one else will measure up! They're great people, and they went out of their way to help us find our way around Reykjavík, etc. Also, the way Setta says Bjarni's name when she wants him to do something is really funny. If you'vemet them you know what I mean :)

I can say nothing but sweet things about Setta and Bjarni. I stayed at their place for 3 days, and the two of them truly know how to make one feel incredibly welcomed. It was so kind of them to host me while being stuck in their little jetlag inferno that went on at the time :) We shall hopefully meet again, guys :]

Setta and Bjarni stayed at my place and their presence were very apreciated, they are a nice couple that have lots of respect and care for my place. I did not know much about Iceland and they shared a lot in our conversation. It was a real pleasure to host them and I now want to go to visit their contry and meet them again.

I'm sure that if I'd spent a bit more time with Setta and Bjarni, I would have said they're lovely, warm, kind and fun hosts. However, they had decided on a last-minute trip to Canada, trusting me and my friend with their keys, appartment, fridge contents, internet and excellent taste in movies a mere 12 hours after we first met. Simply amazing and truly wonderful. We had an excellentl time in Reykjavik, and hope your stay in Canada was just as nice.

In an interesting twist, I e-mailed Setta to stay on her couch, but somehow ended up hosting her in Canada instead! No that I'm complaining, she was the model surfer and her and Bjarni have set the bar so high it will be difficult for anyone to reach it - that doesn't mean the rest of you shouldn't try though, haha. Setta, Bjarni and Freya (the kitty) were great hosts! My sister and I surfed their place for 5 days. They helped us get a deal on tours, directed us to hot spots and must-sees and even made us a fantastic dinner one evening. They have the best taste in candy and their kitty is SO cute! On a day tour, we actually ran into another Canadian who was surfing with Setta's mom, Setta! What a small world. :)

We stayed with Setta and Bjarni in beautiful Iceland for 3 nights and found them to be the most welcoming and friendly hosts anybody could hope for. We were so appreciative of the all the tips and help they both gave us, nothing was too much trouble. We hope to stay in touch and it would be an honor and a pleasure to host them in our home in Australia. Even the cuddly cat is welcome!

Setta was my first host in Reykjavik and I owe only good memories to my stay with her in a beautiful apartment in the center of the city. She was extremely kind and willing to help me find my away around the city and out towards the country side (she even got me a discount on a bus tour). A friend and I stayed with Setta for one night in March. She and Bjarni (and their adorable cat) were really wonderful hosts. They took us to visit the blue lagoon the day we arrived in Iceland, it was such a great way to start our trip!

Setta was a great host, helping me to get oriented in the city. Her place is wonderfully located and she has all the materials you´d expect of a Couch Surfing expert--even extra keys. What a pleasure to kick off my stay in Iceland!

I stayed with Setta in Bjarni over a year ago and have been extremely lazy about writing this reference, but I could not have had a better experience. They are incredible hosts, very kind people and threw a pretty excellent party. Hopefully I can one day return the favor to them.

Setta and her boyfriend were incredibly flexible about being available for me to drop my stuff off at their place, and the room is spacious and very nice. I ended up not spending the night with them afterall because of changes in my plans, and they were so understanding about it. I would definitely recommend them as hosts!

Setta and Bjarni are amazing, their place is gorgeous and they took us clubbing on the weekend. Setta even managed to get a soaking wet person into NASA.

It was great to stay with Setta and Bjarni. I arrived in their very warm appartment at 2 am after walked from the bus station in a freezing cold Reykjavik (a stunning -18C). I was happy to find so great host. We got the chance also to see with them a glimpse of the Northern Lights. Lucky we are ;-)

Setta is a very nice person. It's fun to stay with her and her cat. Also with her boyfriend Bjarni. She trusted me from the beginning on and gave me the feeling of being home.

Setta certainly has the couchsurfing thing down! She allowed my friend and I to stay in her flat in Reykjavik for an entire week while she was traveling in Cuba, all this without even meeting us first! It was too bad that we only got a chance to meet for a few minutes before I had to leave for the airport. I would have loved to get to know Setta better as she seems like such an open-minded and hospitible person.

it was nice to stay over the busy days at her place... cool and relax to celebrate new years eve with her, her boyfriend and the cute cat & great to see the fireworks...we felt comfortable at her place and we like to come back...and thanks again for the icelandic music...

Even though I only got to talk to Setta for all of 15 minutes I count her as one of the most trusting and caring hosts ever. She made sure we were taken care of in Iceland and let us have the run of her lovely apartment. I am truly amazed at the level of her generosity! My experiance staying with Setta and Bjarni was absolutly positive. They are both wery hospitable, friendly and fund people who made us feel at home right away, took us to see reykjavik and drank a lot (too mush?) airport-vodka with us! Staying with Setta and Bjarni is definetly a very good introduction to Iceland!

I only surfed Setta´s couch for two nights, but I think she is really interesed in her couchsurfers and very helpful if you want to know something about her country. Besides she is very talkative and open-minded. She opens her flat and heart for strangers from all over the world. That´s really a great thing. Go on like this! ;) Good Luck

Not only did they give us a wonderful place to lay our heads, but they offered warm hospitality, very helpful tips, and took us along on an IKEA shopping run in Reykjavik! Setta and Bjarni are two of the loveliest people in Iceland. I felt at home from the moment I got to Reykjavik. Even though I was busy working the Airwaves Festival, we found time to eat together, laugh alot and try Pimms. Plus, they got me hooked on Skyr. I will be back in Iceland as soon as possible, not only for the country but also to see them again.

It was a cold and windy night in iceland, and I just found out that my reservation was cancelled, when... setta and bjarni came to the rescue! They were extremely kind, and stayed up late answering all my questions about christmas in iceland. Thanks bunches!
