CURRENT MISSION http://www.halftheskymovement.org/ ABOUT ME I'm sometimes ironic though shy. I like new experiences and rarely judge people. Sometimes I forget to turn off the light, but otherwise I'm quite thrifty and could live on a very small income. PHILOSOPHY Redefining myself every couple of years, I try to focus on what really matters - Until some time ago, I didn't like meeting new people, talking, making friends. Now, however, it has changed dramatically :> - I'm keeping an eye on each potential fellow-wanderer and friend :).

Why I'm on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING Hosting several people, enjoying surfing at other people's houses, popularising the idea :) COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE It's absolutely amazing how the world of lively, interesting and funny people suddenly opens and gives millions of possibilities of contact. I am and will be impressed by this. And try to spread the spirit.
Music, Movies, and Books
The Lord of the Rings and other Tolkien's works. Mum. Aida by Verdi. Muse. Emiliana Torrini. 'Martin Eden' by Jack London. 'Prowadził nas los' by Kinga & Chopin. My sister playing her guitar. Japan and mangas - "X" was my childhood lecture :). Janusz Radek and his poetic singing. Theatre in all forms and kinds. Peace Pilgrim and her book. Into the Wild directed by Sean Penn. Bollywood movies. Devendra Banhart and his hippie voice. Porcupine Tree, especially live. 'Half The Sky' by Nicholas Kristof and Sheryl WuDunn.
One Amazing Thing I've Done
Three days of silence and meditation during a soul-seeking 'school'. I would have to speak for another three days to describe things one notices in oneself and in the world during such a challenge.
Teach, Learn, Share
Teach: hatha yoga, cooking, backpacking, swimming Learn: business skills, guitar, professional climbing... almost anything Share: I think in teaching and learning we will be able to find something in common :>. languages exchange: English, Dutch, German and Polish I know or I'm trying to learn, Spanish, French and Danish I'd love to work on, Norwegian, Japanese and Korean I'd love to learn!
My Interests
Travels, literature, philosophy, cultures, music, coffee, teaching (esp. children), theatre, languages, all things Dutch, yoga and meditation. I try to read at least one new book a week. And I tend to reread all the books I've got on the shelves.
