Personal DescriptionSince age 45, I am now enjoying relearning how to live, with an unbridled and unfettered exuberance!
How did I get this way? Well, you can read all about -- in the section below: "Teach, Learn, Share"...
This new approach has worked, like magic!
A new strong sense of self, buoyed by a powerful spirit of the perfections abounding, all around and within -- with superb friends and ease of making new friends!
How I Participate in CS2In any and all ways!CouchSurfing ExperienceHosted, and joined a "CS Collective", and enjoyed social gatherings! PhilosophySee below -- "Teach, Learn, Share"...
Also, here's my favorite quote:
"The idea is to be in a constant state of departure, while always arriving!" -- from the film "Waking Life"
Also, here's my favorite definition of "Spirituality":
-- to reflect, feel, and express a cosmic gratitude,
to appreciate the beauty of the whole,
as well as be absorbed in our own limited projects and passions
(as the ultimate happiness,
and the ideal expression of emotional integrity)."
Music, Movies, Booksthe film "Waking Life"Types of People I enjoyYou! Let's talk!Teach, Learn, ShareI've turned my life around, gaining real spiritual awareness -- where spiritual means "Gratitude for the whole, and my role within it, as absolutely perfect!"
Now I'm eager to share -- so here's my lessons in life...
At 45, I hit my "wall" in life, and saw for the first time, how and why my life was not working.
Here's the simple logic I postulated, to make some sense of my mess in life -- as I reeled and staggered spiritually, after hitting my "wall"...
Ok, given that my best efforts are yielding opposite results -- #1) What is my existing approach to life?, and #2) What would be a "polar opposite" approach? (which most likely might offer some real successes, given the failures of my existing approach )...
#1) My existing approach to life -- "Seek to control the future, by carefully thinking and acting now, to make others happy!" In other words, "My happiness depends on my making others happy with me?" Clearly, this approach seems a valid description/prescription for a "co-dependent" quagmire!
#2) The polar-opposite approach: Let go of the future, and live fully in this moment, knowing that "here & now" is all we ever really have, anyway! And being immediately authentic is the first and foremost challenge in life -- yes?
Oops! Seeing this new logic, for the first time -- I realized that I had no idea of how to live fully in this moment!
Yet, I trusted my brain to learn -- without turning to books, as much as I loved them throughout my life -- knowing that the only way to really learn to live "in the moment" was by simply living with awareness within each moment...
Here are the simple rules I set for myself, in order to learn to live fully within each new moment:
Rule #0 --
"Know that I have a big heart and a fine mind"
This means that I want the best for others, according to their own choices -- and the best I can do is stay "out of the way" while supporting them in making their own choices, since they'll either get what they want, or learn to make different choices... Absolutely Perfect!
Rule #1 -- "Trust and rely on my instincts!"
This means for me to act and speak (or not act and not speak) according to my immediate awareness, without having to "think first" (without considering how others might judge me) -- knowing that this is the best way to hone my instincts, and also to easily see the true inner character of others (as they respond to my non-thinking reflexes)...
Rule #2 -- "Doubt my fears!"
This means to sense when I shy away from doing something, or saying something -- instead, I trust my instincts, and immediately do or say it, anyway! Almost always, I learn that the fear was not real, it was only an inner unreal thing, which immediately disappeared, as I went right at it!
Rule #3 -- "Learn the difference between my instincts and my fears!"
This is the hard part, but oh so essential!
The result of all this has been such a big blessing -- since age 45, my life has become a source of real fun, happiness, and spiritual introspection and reflection -- for myself and others!Locations TraveledTRAVELED: Italy, Japan, United Kingdom, United States LIVED: Canada, Germany, United States WANTS TO GO: Australia, Iceland, India, New Zealand, Singapore References
