About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To experience as many of the world's cultures as possible before I die.

ABOUT ME

I'm a very laid back individual. I don't let many things bother me. I was an introvert all through high school, but as soon as I got to college I said to myself, "Screw that, there are too many cool people to meet to be afraid to walk up and say 'Hi'". And ever since I've been developing my ability to converse with new people and make friends.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've known about couch surfing for a while now and have had the opportunity to help my roommate John Britton host two people in Troy, New York and two couples in Beijing, China. I've enjoyed meeting, talking, and hanging out with every one of them. I've finally created my own profile because after hearing all of our guests amazing travel stories I would like to go out and have more of my own to share.

Interests

I'm a musician and love to participate in outdoor activities such as hiking, biking, swimming, rock climbing, kayaking, running, sailing, etc. I enjoy playing soccer, volleyball, basketball, ultimate frisbee and the Chinese version of hackey sack. I like learning martial arts. I practiced Tai Chi in high school and currently play Judo at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI).

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: Dispatch, Sublime, RxBandits, Streetlight Manifesto, Paranoid Social Club, Mudfunk, The Refreshments, and The Prostitutes in Suits (my band)

Favorite book: A Soldier of the Great War -Mark Helprin

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I hiked the Appalachian Trail from 20 miles north of Katahdin Mountain, Maine down to Gentian Pond, New Hampshire (about 320 miles) with a group of 10 other people when I was 14.

Teach, Learn, Share

I enjoy teaching drumming (usually with a conga, but any drum or combination of drums will work). I can teach the basics of Guitar as well. I can teach kayaking (whitewater, flatwater, or sea kayaking) including how to roll one.
