Samuel Meylan

Sam hosted us after a "Whisky & Dine" evening in Vevey. As we arrived late at his flat and left quite early in the morning, we didn't have a lot of time to get to know each other - but one thing is sure, he's a very nice and generous person. We are looking forward to host him in Fribourg one day to taste some Whiskys and exchange our scottish travel-experiences!

When I was travelling towards Barcelona I posted a message to find out if there were people that wanted to explore Barcelona together with me. Samuel responded. We both enjoyed our tourguide -and good friend- Doris! We enjoyed a home party at Irene's home, we went together to La Merce... It became a nice long weekend! Whenever you want to visit Belgium, you know to find me Samuel!

I met Samuel in a dinner in Barcelona, after taste differents meals we went out around the City.
Really nice person, hope see him again here or in Switzerland

Sam is really open guy, we had best lunch in Catalunya together, none of us spoke any good spanish and it was lots of fun !!!

Sam is a very nice guy and a perfect guest. Even when I couldn't offer him to much time he organized very well for take great pictures of Barcelona and discover the city. We shared some CS parties, city tours and mojito´s nigth!! Hope to see you soon!!

I didnt surf with Sam because we leave in the same town! But we're going out in the same bar of some of our friends and we spent lots of time waiting for the sun to wake up at the lake side!
He's a good guy, sensible and he likes making people beeing happy. His flat is really nice, near the lake.
You can be sure that you will meet lots of people from Vevey if you visit him!

Staying with Sam in Vevey was great! His flat is in a perfect location, right by the marche, lake and train station. He took time to take me on a evening walk around Vevey and we went for some local area wine at his favourite place. In the morning we checked out the market and had a coffee, than he made sure I found my boat to Chillon. Sam is so nice and accomodating - hosting me on short notice, ensuring I was looked after and even lending me a book from his large collection! I hope to meet Sam another time and repay his kindness.

I got to know Sam as a very generous and nice person. He showed me around, we spent a wonderful evening at the multicultural festival with his cousin and friends and often had dinner together. Thanks for that, Sam!

Combine people that love whisky and traveling. Add some good music and good sense of humour. On top, have cheese fondue. Then you have a spectacular ending for my Swiss trip :D
Sam was a really nice host in Vevey. Very friendly from the beginning. We had some drams of excellent whiskies, a perfect fondue, some pints at an Irish pub.... a great night.
Thanks a lot Sam! Hope to visit Vevey again!

It was a real pleasure to stay at Sam's place. He is a really open, funny person, who has a lot of interesting stories from his travels to tell.

Sam was a truly extraordinary host. We are SO grateful to him for taking us around the Vevey-Montreux-Lausanne area on foot, by car, by boat, and by train- all in one day! He never seemed to tire of our endless questions. Also, Sam gives excellent directions. :) Please come see us sometime!

Good old Sam is a guy that I met during our studies ages ago.

We met then at different CS meeting, he's a great guy always up to share a good time. He's offered me a couch when I came back from Argentina without hesitation.

Sam is a friendly and interesting guy and it was nice to meet him at the Swiss ambassadors meeting ! I was looking forward to see him again, and i finally surfed his couch during the Fondue Meeting (let's say i surfed his bed and he surfed his couch LOL!). We had a great time hanging out around Vevey. Sam is really a nice host so don't hestitate to join one of his meeting !

I saw his profile for a while on CS and I'm glad to finally meet him. We had a lot of fun during this meeting in la Chaux-de-Fonds, he's a friendly guy.

I've known Sam for quite a while and he is a great member. He organized a fantastic fondue meeting where almost 30 people showed up. We also see each other sometimes at the local bar to have a drinksss and try developing cs in our area. Sam is very open minded, thrustworthy and enjoy talking about anything. If you have the opportunity, don't miss the chance to meet this great guy!

we studied 3 years together, long time ago. but the world is small and couchsurfing make us meet again.

i was in switzerland during 2 week in 2006 for the montreux jazz festival and Thesam accomodated me very liberally.
We benefitted from the area and made me met extraordinary people.
He like good things like good music, good wiskies and good cigars.
Special remember for the travel in the mountain between the vines.

Sam is a very polite, uncomplicated and friendly guy. His travelling project is really interesting and i hope he will have good hosts and good luck on his way...i am curious.

We met twice in St. Petersburg at a concert and for drinks. Enjoy your travels through Asia, and, who knows, maybe wie'll meet in Kyrgizstan.

If you host Sam, you can be sure he will be quiet, clean, tidy, and he will keep your privacy as well. Unfortunately, we haven't found much in common and, as a result, didn't hang out together or communicate a lot. We tried our best, though, to be good hosts, and hopefully managed to.

My first couch surfer came from an unknown city in Switzerland, and was leading to nowhere in Siberia! Nice meeting, very interesting, and it was a good time for having fun! see you in the middle of nowhere then!

Very nice guy. Friendly and calm. Stayed with friends at my place. Was a great group and he was a great part of it. Really knows how to be decent, friendly and didn't have a problem with sleeping on a simple matras. Way to go.

Sam is the best! He has the best taste in music, food, wine and people. I loved hanging out with him. It went by too fast! He is an excellent host.

Sam was the best host! His apartment is great and he lives in a gorgeous town on Lac Leman (Lake Geneva). He is very kind and showed me around when he wasn't working. On the other days he made sure that we could meet up for dinner and bar-hopping.

Samuel is great! though we didn't get to hangout alot together, but the hospitality was lovely!

So Friendly and enthusiastic. I met Sam a several time at the Pub "Bout du Monde", where we speak together about Couchsurfing and the way to make progressing this site. He is very open-minded, friendly and really enthusiastic about this project. If you are in his area you should contact him for surfing his couch or even just to share a cold Belhaven, listening to his crazy and nice stories about his trips.

Sam as Mr. Spirit of Scotland ! Damn ! I won't say the same about Sam but he's a great guy ! After our trip to Edinburgh, learning some things about "Spirit of Scotland", we celebrated "The Scottish Day" at Montreux Jazz Festival - and this guy was the only one to survive !!! See you next year ...
