I hate him too!! ;-)
He's the best Couchsurfer I've ever hosted. No offence to you other guys, but this guy is simply the bomb!!! all you other peeps didnt cook me dinner every single day of the week... and not just a dish of pasta!! And they say the path to a man's heart is through his stomach. Thierry is also fun to listen to (you cannot talk to him coz talking with your mouth full is rude) and to hang out with. My friend, hope to see you soon! (PS: if you have a nice bottle of wine when you welcome him he will love you!!)

We met though Leo(CS member) on a party at his house. Even though I don't know Thierry very well I had a nice impression of him. He is very friendly and seems to be really calm, i like that =)

A very interesting guy with high cooking knowledgs (he is an expert making aperitives). Of course, with a glass of wine. We enjoy talking and drinking and eatig (the best placers of life).

The best chef in the world!!! Thierry was a perfect surfer and it's very friendly and polite guy. He prepared us (Olga and me) a fantastic dinner full of french specialities. Very recommended!;) See u soon Mr Martínez!

we met in "EL QUINTO" a CS flat in centre of MADRID... he has the real CS-MENTALITY... sharing lives and feelings... he became "le chef de la maison"!!! I hope to see you in Lyon, and you are really invited to come to GENOVA!

I searched for a host in lyon but i couldnt get any favorable reply. finally it was thierry who saved my life :) he hosted me for two nights. finally i made the conclusion that i could not have found any better host than thierry. we shared a lot! he showed me all the interesting places in lyon. it was a very international night. brazilian, italian, romanian, french and turkish. we cooked altogether. he is the ideal example in couchsurfing community. thank you very much thierry for all! you are welcome to us anytime you come..

Nous avons appréciés sa grande disponibilité et ses connaissances pour visiter Lyon de façon tout à fait exceptionnelle. À la maison, chez lui, nous avons été reçus généreusement en autre grâce à ses talents de cuisinier hors-pair. Dans la grande tradition gastronomique de Lyon. On espère bien le recevoir à notre tour à Montréal.

my first couchsurfing experience at thierys could not have gone better. he was extremely welcoming, friendly and ALOT of fun. i strongly advise surfing with thiery in lyon. just after one week i felt a good friendship had formed and was genuinely sad when i had to leave.

There is no simple way to describe my experience at Thierry's. It was so unique. He is the most accomodation and nicest person ever, and he taught me so much about wine, France, cheese, music...the important things in life. I had the most amazing week with him and will definately be going back soon.

thierry is the best host I can imagine!!! I had very nice and deep discussions with him about every thing and us!! It is very important for him that his guests are feel absolutley comfortible!! he knows lyon very well and show you the really nice places (not the tourist things)! Thierry's couch was the first couch I've ever surfed. After this experience I could say that I REALLY belive in CS and in it's power. The week that I spent in Thierry's house was one of the most incredible week ever. Thierry is amazing! Always ready to help and so toughtfull! Nice, intelligent, kind, really good cooker, funny.
Bref... Thanks to CS I found not only a really great Host, but a really good friend as well.
If you want to "live Lyon", to have fun and to eat a incredible french meal, you have to talk with Thierry!

Thierry is the ideal couchsurfer-- a real cornerstone of the community. He's engaging, fun, polite, clean, and friendly. He's also a great cook-- I'll never forget the appetizer's he made for our big meal. You couldn't find a better couchsurfer.

Thierry invited me to stay with him in Lyon and I had one of the best couchsurfing experiences. Not only did he take time off, but he picked and dropped me off at the train station various times. He made traditional Lyonais dishes making an exception to my dietary choice. He showed me around his town and made me feel like I was his family. Amazing Hospitality!! No wonder he is #1 Lyon ambassador!

Thierry is a VERY nice friend!

He is one of the best host i have ever seen. You will feel like you are at your own home while staying at Thierr'ys home.

Thierry noticed me yesterday (while we were having an apero) that we haven't add each other on our friends list.
That's funny to realize that, because Thierry & I don't need any friend list or references to know what we think about each other.
I appreciate him a lot and i'm very respectful of what he do with the CS community in Lyon. He is the one who convinced me to participate more in this project. Thierry is the Great One and he is also my friend.

If you ever doubt Thierry being an ambassador, you must be a fool!! he totally deserves his title. Thierry showed us around Lyon all day long without asking anything at all!!
Update-->Return of favor, Thierry came to Montreal, but we didn't even did as much as the third he did for us. He even cooked us food, really good food.

I met Thierry at the Lyon's mass meeting for the festival of lights that he co-organized. He bring us for a visit of some street of Lyon with a group of cool CS. We have seen a great garden of luminous trees and have searched for a phantom pub :). We then have seen the "Traboules" before taking a good hot wine at the flat meeting.
A good guy, very in the spirit of CS.

Il a des personnes dans lequels tu reconnaîs une originalité une autenticité, Thierry en fait parti.

Thierry is a great guy with a big heart. He is very generous and, of course, a wonderful cook. We took a nice walk around the old town in Lyon and he showed me some very interesting historical places.

I saw Thierry recently in Montreal, he was organising a meeting at "Le St-Sulpice" we had a lots of fun. Thierry is an open person and he like to have conversation with new friends. It won't be long Thierry I will try to meet you in France around June.

I spent the day showing Theirry around Seattle. He was very nice and easy to get along with. He had great stories which I enjoyed hearing. After the day he prepared a French meal which was delicious. It really was an amazing experience that we won't forget.

I briefly met Thierry at the San Diego bonfire.. he seems like a genuinely good person though. Maybe we'll cross paths again when I visit Europe next summer.

Thierry is a model Couchsurfer. No wonder he is the ambassador for his city. He stayed with us for a few days and we shared wine and food and good conversation. He understands the give and take philosophy of Couchsurfing. Great guy.

I met Thierry at the CS bonfire in San Diego this past weekend, and the meeting was quite enjoyable. He is so generous and welcoming that I would love to contact him about surfing his couch in Lyon sometime! I knew he was the ambassador for Lyon 15 minutes before he shared that bit of info with me (just by his love of hosting others and getting to know about their lives)

i met thierry in the San Diego/Tijuana bonfire in mission bay he is a wonderful french guy, so gentle i had alot fun with him tryng to explain the Mexican menu in a restaurant like 4:00 am in the morning , but well i hope he like the quesadillas con tortilla de arina hahahaha and a bottle of water because they dont want to sell us alcohol jejejeje hope see you u again propably in Lyon ......

Theirry is a generous guest, cooking a wonderful and filling French meal for myself, Peter and another CS'er. He is very interested in meeting new people and learning how they live their lives. I hope he receives the same hospitality in the USA as he gives out of his home in Lyon. Hope to see you in France next year, Theirry!

Thierry is a friendly, open fellow. He's willing to leave his preconceptions at the door and is up for whatever you're willing to do with him (except play guitar, that is). His English is fine, despite what he says, and his cooking is even better. Perhaps one of his most interesting traits is how laid back he is…his trip plans are always organic, always changing, and that doesn't fluster him a bit.

Thierry is a true pleasure! He was a great host a great cook and an all around great guy! I had a blast in Lyon.

One of the nicest people I've met! Even though I was just coming to Lyon for a day to look around, Thierry picked me up from the train station, cooked me lunch and saw me off himself at the end of the day. It's people like this that are the reason CS is so successful.

Thierry was the first person who hosted me as a couchsurfer, and I could not have asked for a better host. He picked my girlfriend and I up from the train station, then made us food and stayed up talking all night. The next day he gave us tips on where to go in Lyon that were right on, and then he showed us around at night when he got off work. It was a great way to ease into the whole couchsurfing thing.

I met him in my flat because he's a friend of my flatmate.We spent several very good evening in bars or at home.He does many thing for couch surfing and couch surfers (meeting...).You should meet him.

I met Thierry in a CS meeting in Lyon. There were a lot of people and unfortunately we didn't talk that much but Thierry seems to be a really nice and friendly guy.

Thierry was a great host in Lyon! He made us plenty of good food, showed us the city, and we went to a Lyon couchsurfing meeting with him that was a great time. And he really loves pastis!

We stayed with Thierry for two nights during our visit to Lyon. He was VERY kind: meeting us at the train station, providing us with maps of the city along with his recommendations of where to visit, and even going out of his way to make us dinner one night. He is a great host. We'll always remember the Pastis.

Thierry was wonderful! He came to meet me at the train station when I arrived in Lyon and was very hospitable for my entire stay. He cooked for me, we had great discussions, he showed me around Lyon, and most importantly, we only spoke French (which was good for me to practice)!
