Tiina Rajasalo

We've met in the weekly meetings many times and though I don't know Tiina yet so well, she's radiant. She has a catching laugh, loud voice and loads of witty remarks to tell - all in all she's a great gal and she does a good job with HOG (Helsinki Organisators' Group).

Tiina hosted me very last minute when I decided to come with 2 other CS'ers that were already to couch at her place. So nice of her to let me stay as well. Tiina is fun to be around, has a sparkling personality, a great house and took the time to hang out with us. Not to forget: she kicks ass at bowling!!!

She is a really funny and happy girl with an easy talk, and ya feel comfortable with her within seconds!

About Tiina and beer you can read more than necessary in the other references or even her self description – so no word about that here! Ok, ok – yes, she is quite partial to a good beer. Bad ones, too Whatever bangs! The first time I met her at Larry's Rotterdam '06 meeting she had already had a few and I might have thought that this was the reason for her happy mood and easygoing and open attitude. But then I met her again at Antoine's birthday meeting in Paris BEFORE we started drinking and was pleasantly surprised to find her to be just as cool and happy by nature when sober! So – yes – she likes the beer and the wine and the cocktails and stuff. So what? It's 20 years after the eighties – times when it was worth mentioning that a girl likes and knows how to drink heavily should be no more than a funny memory of ancient darker times! What is much more worth mentioning is that is lacking even the slightest spur of bitchiness or iffyness or touchyness. In other parts of the world she might be called a tomboy - but, Thank God, Tiina's Finish and there she's simply a cool chick;-D Or at least a real girl – one of the kind who wanna have fu-hun. But not just that! We had not too many but really nice talks, too. I confess: that's nothing really too deep and meaningful I can say about her… But I'm not trying to tell you what a great mother to your kids or leading political figure (or …) she would be but "only" what a cool and joyful CS guest or host she certainly is – and about that I'm totally positive!

Tiina has a marvelous laugh and she laughs a lot :-). I really had a good time staying at her place. Even when I left the appartment to go for some milk, but didn't find my way back to hers.

I met Tiina during the CS Week end of Sinterklaas in Rotterdam and then I surfed her couch in Helsinki. She is a very nice and smilling person. Always ready to make us know some finnish specialities. It was very nice to be hosted by her, I felt really comfortable with her. You are welcomed to Lille whenever you want !

Tiina's just... lovely. Simple as that. Helpful, bouncy, just great to hang out with. A shame I couldn't surf her couch as she was full but it was a total pleasure to meet up and be shown round by her.

Tiina and the rest of us had fun on the CS cruise in November 07.

After seeing her face over and over again for about a year in all group messages she posted in the Rotterdam group we finally met during the Sinterklaas party for some small talks. I saw her again at the weekly Rotterdam meeting for some more talks, just a day before her return back to Finland. Hope to see you again some day. Sometimes she sends some Finnish chocolate to her friends to give away at local meetings. That was a fun and surprising experience :)

Tiina is very active in the couchsurfing community. Always up for a party (or two).

Oh, and she sent me some Finnish 'salmiakki' chocolate. Have to love her for that. :)

Update(August 2008):
I stayed with Tiina for a few days with 3 people (me included). Tiina turned out to be a great host (surprise! surprise! ;D) and took the whole day to hang out with us.

This girl is a blast! Met out at a meeting and ended up talking and drinking most of the night. Between stories of traveling and living in different places to the best drink combos in Finland, there was never a dull moment.

Tiina, nice meeting you and partying with you at the bar and Consul club. Hope to see you again somewhere. LA is waiting for you:-)

Duke introduced us 8 times... maybe She liked shaking my hand.. Good giggles, and great to correct my pronunciation of my useful finnish :)

For some reason, i never wrote a reference for tiina !! thats how i treat person i really care for here on couchsurfing and thus in the real life too! tiina has got some super powers and let me tell you about few of them.
she can maker her friends coming to celebrate her birthday even if they live hundreds of kilometers away (and they always come)! she is touch by an amazing force that makes her connect with everyone but that made her one of the few woman that i ll die to see again!! so good to see her once again for sinterklaas

I met Tiina first time in Suomenlinna and then giving FreeHugs in Helsinki. She is supernice: she was supporting me in a difficult moment of my life cause nobody was hugging me :))

I met Tiina during the Paris Rendez Vous 2007. Great girl with a real passion for the CS project :-). Ironically I'm actually being hosted by a Finish surfer while writing this right now! :-P. Hope to catch her again at a CS event in the future, you'll love her the instant you meet her :-)

Tiina is like the sun, a beam of light in a dark world, but if you get o close you might get a skin rash, she gave me one, in the shape of Hawaii. I dont know how she did it, shes just got that kind of magic. Get to know her, its good.

Tiina is a great person and is exactly what couchsurfing is all about. She crashed at my place together with 12 others, and we had a very good time! Partying until late, she was still up early every morning making breakfast for the whole bunch. Happy to have met her :)

UPDATE: happy to have lived with her and Duke for nearly half a year. We had a _lot_ of fun :)

Tiina is a gift at the Rotterdam Collective. She's always anticipating needs, a sugar cube in hand for your morning tea, a knife to spread your butter, a stamp for your postageless envelope. I'll dearly miss her continual smiles, loud laughter and fun vibes.

It took a while for me to write a reference worthy for this CS-Queen. We met a while back when we were still "Couchsurfing Rookies" on a meeting in Antwerp and since then we regularly meet up at CS-meetings. Beside the fact that she is "CS Europe" and you can't call a meeting a CS meeting if Tiina is around she's also a great drunk (at least better then me... and if she doesn't like a drink you offer it must be something really nasty... trust her on it).

Tiina organised the CS meeting and I ended up meeting a lot of CSers. It was great, and then on my last day in Amsterdam when I was supposed to go to Rotterdam she let me crash at her place. It was a lot of fun hanging with her and Davina and Cari, playing on swings, climbing frames and weird roundy yokes that spin in circles.

I only briefly talked to Tiina at the cs meeting in Ghent last weekend, but she seemed like a very nice person who's always in for a chat, enjoyed talking to her... keep up the cs spirit :-)

I met Tiina at Antwerp. She is a great person, i met her the next two nights while we drank great Belgium beer and talked about many different things, i always felt comfortable with her and like she said i would like to host her, surf with her or both! if you ever come to Australia, you are very welcome!

Ooooh well I know she doesn't NEED another reference, but hey we shared a bed and didn't kill each other. In fact I would share anything with Tiina anytime (oh ok, not everything...;-) And being both crazy addicts we will see each other again!

i briefly talked to tiina on the cs meeting, she looks like an amazing girl and i'm sure we'll meet up again soon at the next cs meeting! we got the exact same movie taste and i would love to get to know her better ;)

Tiina is a sweetheart totally devoted to everything couchsurfing. I'm glad I had the pleasure of meeting her while we both surfed Stijn's warehouse couch. Hopefully we can meet up in Rotterdam!

The lovely Tiina gave me a great hospitality & party in Amsterdam..... Met her in Paris in November with her fantastic smile and her ready to party look. She is a great host, fun to hang around or just walk the streets and chats. Nice one party girl, next stop... Paris. xx

Tiina hosted me for two days in Rotterdam during the Queens day weekend in NL. She is a nice and easy going person who smiles, laugh a lot and is very active CSer at the same time. Her hospitality was just perfect as I spend a wonderful weekend there. Looking forward to meet and know you better. My best regards and see you in other CS gatherings.

Tiina is one of those people you bump into all the time when hanging out with CSers. She is really fun to be with, always helpful and and and. + She is one of the few people I can practice my Finnish with. :-) Since Queen's day/night/weekend I can also say that she is very good in organizing meetings. The weekend was just amazing! I had so much fun with all the great CSers! Thank you Tiina!!!! Looking forward to seeing you a lot more in Cologne!

I enjoyed talking to Tiina and partying at the O'Sheas first... plus we then talked - 'bout girlie matters ;) - until early morning at Larry's while Fred bravely fell asleep on an armchair. And she helped us carry luggages and run to the train station where we almost missed our train back to Paris - thanks again :))

What to say about Tiina... she's just amazing! I met her in April 2006 to continue to party after the Queens Day, then again in April 2007 for the great weekend she organized around Holland. A great organizer, a cool host, a nice party companion all into a sweet Finn girl... don't miss her but don't play monopoly with her though!

Its impossible to miss Tiina at a meeting.
I met her at many meetings and she is fantastic to hangout with and not like any typical Finn at all.
I'm sure we will meet again at next meetings meeting Tiina is the same word as having fun and lots of laughs.

Tiina hosts CS meetings in A'dam and made me feel quite welcome at my first. I was sorry I missed out on bowling! Saw Tina again for Queens Day. She is the CS mother of A'Dam.

Meeting Tiina was a surprise for me, but a welcome one for sure. We passed an evening together, and then I ended up surfing her/their couch. This was great as we got to know one another much better. She even arranged a dinner with some other local involved CSers, and cooked vegetarian for me (and put up with the fact that we showed up so late).. yum yum! Enjoyed our chats, and Tiinas general lightness and kind heart. She didn't once beat me! Thanks Tiina.. and hope to see you again.

Tiina is a lot of fun to hang out with, she's really into CS, and seem to enjoy having people coming over a lot. She is very bright and cheerful, hopefully I will be able to join some of her CS activities in Rotterdam! Maybe Queensday?

For a first CS experience, I can't be more enthousiastic! I felt really home and loved Tiina's pasta (quite surprising for a finnish girl). It's rare that i connect with someone in 5 minutes and am walking arm-in-arm with them for the rest of the evening... it speaks not only to Tiina's friendliness but her awareness and willingness to be open. Someone who embodies the real CS spirit and demonstrates it daily - a great person. Hugs, Tiina!! :D

Tiina is one of the most interesting people I've met in a while. I dont remember much from the night I spent with her and Duke other than we watched alot of QI. She's such a warm and friendly personality that theres nothing unlikeable about her. I hope I can meet her and Walter and Duke again very soon as my time with them was one of the best couchsurf's I've had to date.

Tiina is a great cook and fun to couchsurf with. I hope the return trip home went smoother than your experience getting to Zurich.

I met Tiina and Duke when they were stucked here in Heidelberg, they chose the best weather for hitch hiking, snowy and rainy...despite the fact they had wet shoes and were freezing, they were really nice people to spend their time with and they never lost their humor.

I had tea with Tiina on a snowy night in Heidelberg. She is a very warm, friendly person that I would be happy to see again!

I spend 3 greats days in Tina, Duke and Walter house. They help me a lot , and their are easygoing, funny, always making chokes and laughing. Nice time in Rotterdame.

It was very nice getting to know Tiina, and we wish that we could have spent more time together and watched Team America. I would highly recommend her as a couchsurfer. Tiina, we hope to visit with you once again!!

Tiina is the best (the best). There should be a category of recommendation that is "Extremely Extremely Positive", and that should be reserved exclusively for Tiina. She is the lynchpin of CS Netherlands these days, the fulcrum around which we all revolve. She throws parties, hitchikes across Europe, and really does seem to know everyone. She will do pretty much anything for CS and CSers, and really is the embodiment of CS spirit. I miss her terribly, particularly because she refuses to come visit LA.
