Perfect host! Ula was a wonderful person to meet. If my every CS experience will look like meeting her, then CS must be a paradise :) Ula provided either warm food for my body and warm conversation for my soul. Ability to talk in my own language behind Polar Circle - priceless :)

It was great that I could met Ula. She hosted me and my friend for 3 days in Tromso. Otherwise possible we would frozen :) She really helped us with finding next place to stay. She is great traveller with huge experience which should be shared! It was really nice to hear stories about her trips.

Sometimes in your life, you'll meet people and you'll understand that you could be good friends from the first second. So happy so smiling . Sailing girl hope see you again one day.

These kind young women are one of the best example of youngness, with kindness, affectionatelly, tenderness with everybody. With very good knowledge and understanding about our world and its problems. Ula and Alina... I can't forget these two kind young women, coming from the snows of Norway, and bringing me the lovely joy of her faces.
Good students, I'm sure, because I could see it. Always worried with their school works... and so... not time to enjoy Porto at the same time!!!
I enjoyed the soup with cauliflower they cooked so well... and the book... of the Nobel "Rafael Garcia Marques"... I didn't finished yet of reading it, but I don't forget to do it because the famous book is just on the little table of my bed. Every night I read a little of it. And... when I look at it... I remember you, and I feel happy, and I smile with my heart!!! You deserve the best to your life, my special friends! And please...come again!

Just watch her for a while and you'll be healed for another 24h....

Well, Ula wasn`t my host in a literally meaning of this word, but She was that person that answered my request. We met only for a tee(next is on me!), but It was enough to say ,that Ula is that kind of person, that You would like to meet over and over,and Im sure that ours paths will cross again someday.

I stayed with Ula for my first two nights in Tromsø, and even though she was very busy with school and preparing her trip to Portugal, she made the time to hang out and chat with me... and she also made dinner, very good dinner at that! Ula is a very cool girl who is very interesting with heaps to talk about. Hopefully see you again soon!

Ula hosted us in Tromsø during our small Norway cross county travel. She is a perfect CS type of person, and a nice host although she had to work. She is very nice, helpful and communicative. Just that open minded type you want to meet while traveling. Keep up Ula and let me know when you want to come over to Trondheim! BTW: Just realized you hosted Ricardo Escalante shortly after he was with me in Germany. Nice guy, he was one of my first CS guests ever!

Ula is great, I surfed on her couch with a friend and despite of all work she had at the time(job and university), she still could find some time to spend with us.

Ula! You are brave, amusing, different and an excellent guest even when your host is an overworked bastard that does far too little for you. You are more than welcome back!

Hanging out with Ula for 2 days was awesome. She showed me all around the beautiful lake district which she gets to call home. Ula has a great bunch of friends, and is always full of laughter and smiles. I'll never forget the addictive cups of hot tea with lemon and honey. Cheers Ula

Ula, an optimist with an open mind and eager feet :>. Studying with her was a lot of fun, parties in Czytelnia were pure joy, and travelling to Cracow a great experience! She also has a storytelling talent. In short, someone to look up to :).

Ula used to be my student (sic!) at the University in Poznan - one of the best ones, I should admit :-) Most importantly, however, she was the person from whom I actually learnt about the idea of HC when we met in one of the cafes in Tromsoe in 2008. ULA - Ultraenthusiastic, Lively, Amiable :-) I recommend her whole-heartedly!

She shares, she is interested, interesting, she travels, she hitchhikes, she is afraid of polar bears when she is near one, she wants to come in Montreal during winter to be surrounded by snow, of course I want to host her in Montreal, or at least to meet her again! Please!

I stayed with Ula and her boyfriend at their student house in Tromsø and it had been so pleasant I didn't want to leave. Ula is such an open and warmhearted person with every kind of interests. She always seems to be in a positive and embracing mood, even though she has to work a lot and couchsurfers are blocking her floor all the time.

Ula, Ulik, Uleńka, my nearest and dearest Friend:) Everyone who has ever encountered Ula knows that she's a class of her own. I feel privileged to meet her. We had numerous polar chinwags, experienced marvellous adventures as well as spent looong time on serious, soul-revealing conversations. All this is now deeply engraved in my memory. It's something never to be forgotten. She's a person of a rare charm, radiant, sunny (highly contagious!) smile and sparkling , beautiful eyes. Ula's definietely trustworthy and compassionate...she immensely helped me when I was going through a difficult patch. Have I mentioned her exuberance, vitality, great intelligence and wit...?

No matter what I write here will not be enough...Ula is just indesribably outstanding person. A godsend. A present. A flower in the desert. Ula, your "Big Mama" misses you woefully.

Ula was my very first CS-host and she really was a wonderful one. She makes you feel so welcome from the first time you meet her and she was a great help to me and my friend in our first days in Tromso. She showed us around and without her I probably wouldn't have made it to my apointment. I'm completely sure that you will enjoy her company, even if it's just for a nice cup of tea in her very nice studenthouse!

Ula, Ula, Ula.. is a lively spirit. Loves to travel and probably to host people. Very,very helpful and sociable. It was my first couchsurfing experience, first very very sweet couchsurfing experience!

Ula is a wonderful person; you feel well together with her from first moment. Even after 2 days we felt like a life-long friendship: very warm and caring friendship. She and her friend Sylwia are both like close family members, and they will always be most welcome to visit us again. Caring, open-minded, warm hearted, honest, smiling, joking...we want to meet again, and for more than 2 days............

A lot has been written on the phenomenon of Ula the Great and all of it is true. I feel too humble myself to put it into words...maybe someday the Highest Cosmic Power or whatever inspires me and I'll be able to pay my tribute ;P Kisses wherever you are, Miss Itchyfeet!

Update:...So the trip is over :) Princess Ula pulled the heavenly strings and transformed a couchpotato into a couchsurfer. She made me go 6000km by hitchhiking just to visit her in the Winterwonderland she chose for her temporary harbour. Now the charm is spreading over Roy as well. Beware beware! She must be a VIP up there ;)

Ula has a whole well of positive energy has a warm personality that you'll find yourself getting attached to very quickly. In my opinion, her ideal guest are people who are curious and have a thirst for adventure. I get the impression that if you are a hitch hiker and confident to go and find some trucks and people to pester then she'll warm to you even more. Indeed she'll go traveling with you. I've never done this myself but I've met people who went travelling with her. I don't know how to be as adventurous or wild as she is. She doesn't mind you drinking but not too much. I know I've drunk too much on a few occasions and ended up fully clothed in the bath with a shower running over my head. Followed by dressing up in her room mates pyjama's. In fact a lot has happened between me and Ula in the short time I've known her. A warm, lover of madness, civilised and she loves a nice cup of tea (with lemon) I like it with milk tho.

Update: Thank you for hosting me in Tromso. It was an emotional, warm and lovely experience. The memories of the beautiful landscape and your wonderful friendship during my visit has touched my heart..thank you Ula. You've written that couchsurfing and its experiences are 'priceless' I think that is the word I can use to comment on both my trip to Tromso and the companionship I've shared with you over the last few years...'PRICELESS, INDEED!'

It was a wonderful trip and suprise when we went hiching. I look forward to hitching up there soon...and I hope you will be there so the story may continue.

I had a nice campfire with Ula and her friends and I felt like with old friends.
She host me for 3 nights and it was a great experience for me.
I really feel like having a new younger sister and it is a very good feeling.

Although we've met several times only, all I can say is that she's an absolutely marvelous person, full of awesome personal charm, sympathy & good will. Always ready 2 let u a hand; someone u intuitively trust straight away. An awesome conversationalist & companion, and a total TEAtotaller :D. A true gem! :)

She's one of these people who has a true HC spirit. In all the meaning of this word. She exactly knows what to do, what to say in each situation to make people happy and comfortable, and she follows the rule that sometimes really small thing made people more glad than anything else!!! Her specific sense of humor, her energy, her intelligence and many many more are a great and undisputed proof that the HC is a club of extraordinary people! And I hope to hitchhike somewhere with her.. big hugs;)

Ula was a marvelous host! Even in her busy student dwelling, and with another friend staying, she was nice enough to let me stay for two nights. What a amazing:) Girl. This is one of the few people i have had the plesure to know that realy live life as it should be lived, passionate. I met Ula by accident in Tromso.She told me about Couchsurfing experience.I was just excited!!! She was staying at Jon's House, which is a very nice guy too.
Well..we had a pizza together. She's a bright girl and full of energy!

I accidentaly met Ula in Tromso. We had dinner with others surfers. I think she’s very bright, a really open-minded person. The best example of Cs philosophy. I would like to meet her once again…maybe, in the future…

I talked to her and her friend while walking through Bucharest with lots of other CSers. She´s an interesting and smart girl and I really enjoyed chatting with her!

I met Ula in Tromso, Norway. We had a really good time. She is open minded, easy- going and of course she likes fun!!
I have an absolutely positive experience with her.

She hosted our friends in Tromso and she was extremely nice with all of us.Without her that place wouldn't have been ("wasn't"? -Please Ula help meee:-)) the same.(and without her friends from the student house)

Its difficult to talk about Ula. Shes got a magnetism hard to explain.
Few minutes are enough to be amazed by her kindness, smile and energy.
Maybe its because her beautiful heart, her peaceful eyes or maybe just because her contagious laugh :)
So many qualities, I simply dont know which of them reached me, I just know that somehow she conquered me.
As a host she was one of my best CS experiences. Surrounded by amazing people we had a ball in Tromso. Great parties, snow fights, ska concert, lots of tea :) and fantasy game lol... impossible to forget.
She is a simple person but extremely powerfull.

Ula is a fantastic person. she was my first couch surfing expereince and one i will never forget. She was very helpful nice and fantastic fun to hang surf with. Ula is one of these wonderful people you meet never forget and would trust with your life.

We met on a picnic when Ula visited London during the summer, her gypsy lifestyle fascinated me and her outlook on life is positive. Such a cool person to hang around with. She can always have my couch.

I was surfing Ania's and Ula's couch with two more frinds in Poznan and it was a really amazing experience!Both were so kind and took care of us (we were quite ill because of the cold weather).
I enjoyed a lot being with them and I feel that just one visit to Poznan is not enough!
Girls, I invite you to come to Spain whenever you want, so you could have lots of spanish omelette (but I want some hot soup and some seasongs in return!)

Ula is the ultimate host. And an amazingly great person. For instance she is going to study in Tromso!! the most northern university in the world (without the !!). I had a great time during this very extended week and hope to see you again, sometime, somewhere, in some lost desertic place or vodka driven city. (Ula la doesn't like vodka, but it is a well known fact that zubrowka is zubrokwa and not vodka). Ula is kind kind kind and it seems like she would never let anyone down.

Ula was a great contribution for the days in Vama Veche and Bucharest with her good-hearted spirit and friendliness!

I was amazed with her sense of adventure - Ula with her friends hitchhiked from Poland to Vama Veche in 2 days! we met in Vama Veche and then in Bucharest:) she is all the time smiling and happy:) even if it's raining she will make u smile:) at least she will share her meal with u:)

Update: I finally made it to Gizycko, which is not Poznan. And got to spend a week with Ula and her family and when i say family, i mean i got to go to her cousins wedding and it was one of the best times in my travels. Please understand that a Polish wedding lasts for two days, which is good because on the first day i fell asleep because i was very tired but it means you can catch up on the second day. Very rarely when you travel do you feel so warm and accepted this was one of those times.

Ula then convinced me to hitch to Romania, which we wont talk about:P but i think it was one of those things that brings you closer together.

Stay with her, especially Australian people from Perth stay at her parents place. This is important.

Ula is my Poznan connection. I had met her in Poznan and then she brought the sun up in Bucharest. It was great sightseeing the city with here. I am glad that I went to Bucharest. She was the reason. Ula check out your photos on www.freewebs.com/toniwalia. Cheers.

Good to meet Ula. She's talkative and sociable. I know I'm not going to get bored being with her. Not on a rainy day on the beach, nor on a sunny day in the grey Bucharest :)

Met Ula cause I we were meant to meet, maybe. Contacted her once to be hosted in Poland, actually wanted to go basically to meet that friendly girl who answered me so nicely. Didnt work though.. then at new years eve I get to Calum's house and.. there she is!!

Wouldn't hurt a fly. A cheerful, nice & sociable person. She's interested in people and their cultural background, always eager to listen what you say :) She's a great companion for travelling, singing and watching movies and more. She's The Passenger :) One of two best *good people* I've met at the university.

Ula is all what has been said about her. she is very warm and friendly and spreads this sort of happy charm around the people she spends time with (still dont know how she does that but i like it:). i hope we do go on that wild trip around USA following Jack Kerouac's steps...:P

Last year I met Ula when she was on one of her many trips, in Edinburgh. Recently I have been lucky enough to couchsurf with Ula and her roommate Ania in Poznan (see above) and would recommend them as hosts to anybody, especially if you like drinking tea and singing songs by 80s hair band Cinderella!

Ula is someone I feel very close to. I do not know her for a long time, this would be considered very bad according to the time based Polish mentality concerning Friendship, but I feel always free to talk to her. It is a kind of feeling one cannot have with everybody. I met her at the first Cs meeting I have organized a couple of months ago and I just think she is a great person, a liable couch surfer and just a perfect member of this great community.

o man so i am never at a loss for words, but when it comes to her every thing that was said about her is so true. I enjoyed her company, talking to her, and going out to the crazy places in poznan till 5am. I am so lucky to have gone to poland just because i got to met her. i hope she come to my part of the US even though it dosent exist=) you could write a book about how great she is. hope to see you again have fun going to odessa with your fantastic roommate.

I can't find enough positive words in my vocabulary to describe how outright GREAT Ula is. The CS queen of Poznań, to my mind at least. With her, there's always something cool and fun going on, and even the craziest idea seems a piece of cake! I'd love to travel/hike with her someday. Ula, next year in Klagenfurt! Ula found my couch via sharing previous couchsurfers and landed here on her way to Vienna... it was a pleasant meeting, talking about all those things CS people usually share - this nice+warm feeling so typical for CS, as if you've known this person for a long time :-)

Ula is an extremely positive, caring and warm-hearted person, she and her flatmate Ania made me feel in their flat like at home.

I danced my feet off with Ula and other friends on a great Saturday night in Poznan. Afterwards we joined for a beer and a nice chat. Really a great girl!

Ula showed me CS and HC and as I am a member of both you can she that she did a good job. Ula is a wonderful person who remains positive no matter what is going on. She's a real adventurer curious about the whole world and always eager to help people around her. If you have a chance to meet her, you will never forget that!

Ula was a graet host while i was in poznan, she was nice enough to let me stay there even though i was new to couch surfing and had NO refrences.I stayed with her and her flatmates for four nights and it was the most at home i felt since i came to europe. I had a ball staying with her and getting to see poznan with her. Extremly easy to get along with.
