My couch is in the living rooms. Me and my mother have our own rooms and my rabbit lives in my room. Sometimes we have a dog which stays in the living room also at night but it's only for a few weeks every year when my father goes on holidays.

As my mother doesn't like having people around too often I can only host every now and then. I would also prefer if you contact me with at least two weeks of advance.

My mother usually allows me to host for ONE or TWO NIGHTS only becsuse she doesn't like to have people in the living room at evening. I would like to host for more nigths and I'll ask my mother anyway but if it is more than one people or more than one night it'll be very likely she will say no.

If you can't come anymore or change plans please tell me. I had a couple of surfers that never showed up and it would be nice if you tell me to let me know you are not coming.

I would like to do more but until I live with my mother I can host people only when she allows me.

I CANNOT HOST

From May to June I will start a mountaineering course so I will not be there on some weekends

FOOD:
We cannot afford to guive you food. Surfers will have to pay for their food, I can show you where the supermarket is. You can use the kitchen to cook your food.

HOUSE:
I live in a quiet garden suburb of Milan. The center can be reached in less than half an hour with subway. I live in a flat with my mother and a dwarf rabbit (which stays in my room). We have a computer with internet and the televison (in Italian only). My mother and I don't smoke. We can host smoker as long as they don't smoke in the house.

PETS:
I have a dwarf rabbit, which stays in my room, but you can find hairs around the house so you have to consider that if you are allergic to animals hair.

COUCH:
I have an air bed, which can be used by 1-2 people.
You can use the bathroom.

TRASPORT:
Close to my house we have, like I said before the subway station and some buses. but I think you will use mainly the underground as it is the fastes way to get to the center. You can make a daily ticket. There is a bus terminal for buses which goes outside the city.

FACILITIES:
A shopping center, with shops and a supermarket is close to my house. I can bring you there or show you where it is.

SHOWING AROUND:
I can show people around in weekends and in the periods when I don't have lessons at university (Jan-Feb and Jun-Sept).

REQUEST: Your request will be better considered if you put this word: STAR in the subject line or somewhere in your request. I do couchsurfing in order to get to know people, reading a profile is the first way one person have to get to know someone never met before. I realized from some requests I had that people hadn't read my profile well. I don't like to be considered like a hostel, also because they cost just 15€ per night.

SUGGESTIONS:
I don't know about turistic life in Milan. If you have any suggestions to make me, it will be useful for the next surfers. If you have any other suggestions or about other useful infos to add to the profile it will be useful for the surfers who will come after you.

Personal Description

My name is Irene. I'm 21 and I live in Milano Italy. I'm a student at the university of Milan. I study veterinary. I like reading, cycling, running and cooking. I'm vegetarian, wannabe vegan, but I don't mind if you eat meat or fish while you are using my couch, or I could cook you a nice vegetarian meal. I live with my mother and a dwarf rabbit in a flat. It has a nice living room in which my couch is located. Sometimes there are also a dog and a cat, they live with my dad but sometimes he takes them here.

How I Participate in CS2

I offer my couch and I meet people traveling in my area. I have taken time to write everything you need to know to have a good stay at my house, please read it in order to avoid bad surprises. I don't know many things about turistic life in Milan so if you get to know anything useful for a turist (museum passes, reduction or so on) that I don't know or have any suggestion to make about surfing at my house you can let me know and I'll add it so it'll be useful for the next surfers.

I don-t check my CS mail everyday so I may notice your request a few days later, consider it if you-d like to make a short notice request!

The couch is located in the living room which my mom likes to have free so I can host very few when she's home.

I like every kind of fiction books, as long as the plot interest me. I'm an omnivorous :-) I read non fiction books about animals.

Anyone who is open minded and doesn't consider my house just as a free bed but is also interested in getting to know each other.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach you how to do decopuage and other creative stuff with scrap art. As I do running and ciclying we could go running or cycling together in Milan. I can teach also Italian. I would like to practise Dutch and Spanish.

One Amazing Thing I've Seen or Done

I've been on the top of Mount Sinai when I was having an holiday in Sharm el Sheikh and that was really a great experience. I have run the Milano City Marathon.

Opinion on the CouchSurfing.com Project

I think it's a nice idea and I'm looking forward having someone on my couch and see the world!! I think couch surfing is great to get to know other people. I'll do the best to get to know my guests host even if I'm busy (host) or I'm in a city for other reasons (guest). It's also a very nice way to discover the true soul of a place.

I showed in milano one night before the anniversary of the milano community, irene gave all the informations to make the things simple, she is really nice and pleasant person, i which her l the best and i am waiting for her in bordeaux for the maraton.
Her mom as well is really nice and helpful person i hope there were more people like that in the world.

Irene and her mum were plesant. Her mum is a great cook and very helpful. Irene showed me everything i needed to get started when i landed here which is better then i could have hoped for :) We went to the Giro D'Italia and out for dinner which was awesome fun. Grazie Irene! :D
