  • " Your site is (yes, IS, for I believe we can rally some people to help rebuild it and maybe you can just over see it to keep integrity and spirit alive.., yet be free to live your new life at the same time..) something special that connects people and helps breakdown fear and cultural barriers. It is unique because it isn't just about profit and a free place to stay, but connection and sharing of ideas face to face, not just on the net. You encouraged people young and old to venture out, trust, believe and learn! People who might never have traveled because they didn't have enough money, or couldn't imagine to leave the borders of their own countries, found you, and found the world. Something like this can't and won't just die"

  • " We really don't want to see this project go down ... It is a mind opening, world traveling, culture learning experience and living without this will make this world bitter and sad ..."

  • " The Csers are some of the most beautiful and caring souls i been blessed to meet. These people have opened my eyes in so many ways and they have touched my heart. And that’s your doing. You have opened my eyes in so many ways and you have touched my heart! The house may have burnt down... but the family is still alive"

  • " I'd only been a member of CouchSurfing for a short time, but reading your announcement today hit me like a ton of bricks. I was genuinely upset by the news, and have carried the feeling that something wonderful has been lost to me forever since. I can honestly say that CouchSurfing - those few times I surfed and managed to host before it ended - was the most fun traveling (and staying at home!) I'd ever had. A widespread, loving and unique community of people working together to get to know each other and make traveling just that little bit more special "

  • " This is a shock. I have just come back from my first CouchSurfing experience, I had the time of my life, met some very kind and welcoming people - I shall never forget it! "

  • " I read your email this morning announcing the end of CouchSurfing.com with mounting pain and disbelief. I got in touch with some CS friends through the internet and everyone feels like something really important has been lost. I am from India, but thanks to CouchSurfing.com I have had the pleasure of staying in places as far away as traditional Bavarian home in a small village in South-East Germany, partying with a bunch of total strangers in the Carnival in Cologne, etc. The people I have met and the friends I have made are real treasures in my life and it was all made possible by CouchSurfing.com -- the site ignited the explorer in me and made it possible for me to realize my travel dreams. • " I feel like a member of my family has died, CouchSurfing has become a way of life for me. All of the amazing, brilliant people that have crossed paths because of this community will be deeply affected "

  • " Yesterday, the morning of the 29th, the very same day you sent the email about the death of CouchSurfing.com, my most recent couch surfer was on her way back to Germany. We sat yesterday morning over coffee at my local coffee shop here in Toronto discussing things like different lives, different cultures, different religions, different morals, etc. We talked about how amazing it was that there was something as incredible as CouchSurfing.com that made it easier for people to tbring all their differences together from all around the world in an effort to realize a world that is all one place, and actually not different at all "

  • " I've met wonderful people, learned from people, dreamed! I sincerely hope there are people who want to live on the dream, who will try to rebuild this wonderful website. Referring to CouchSurfing as a mere website, would be a huge understatement though. It was a community, a way of life, a philosophy! "

  • " I deeply feel the loss of what happened, but however life is still in a cycle. I believe you guys do still have the spirit to begin another journey. And I will positively support the sharing and caring of another project like this. I believe in opportunity and optimistic of any project. Please do let me know if there is any future project like this, or you guys need any help. I will try my best to help. I just started to join in June this year and I have already felt the vibes. I could just feel the vibes won't die so easily. I am from Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, and my mom always taught me, 'Objects are static, but human being are dynamic' "
