sven is the saint of brussells. Not only did i find him to be the sweetest guy around...but we had some good talk and a stellar walk/drinks. his hospitality is off the hook!!!

Together with Vera and Olka we surfed Sven's couch for 5 days. He is open-minded, caring and very interesting person :) It's a shame that we couldn't spend more time together to better know each other and share more, but even though I learned a lot from him :) I really hope he will come visit us and then I will have the opportunity to pay him back for his kindness and show him my beloved city :) He's a role model for every couchsurfer!

I've surfed Sven's couch with my sister and a friend for 4 nights and that time we spent in Brussels was just fantastic. Sven is a superkind, caring, helpful guy who cooks officially the best vege food in whole world. He knows a lot and likes to share his knowledge with others. I'm really glad I had an opportunity to meet such an interesting person (thanks to cs). Hope to see You again some time (maybe Gdansk?)

I didn't talked alot with him but he sure does know about beers. There was an american/korean couple trying out beers and he picked them a beer suiting their tastes !

I surfed with Sven for 3 days while visiting Brussels and Bruges. Sven was a great host and my experience far exceeded my expectations. He provided lots of very useful tips about things to do/see. He was also nice enough to show me around Brussels on my last day and took me to a food festival which was a lot of fun! Sven is a great person and very enjoyable company. I hope to be able to host him in the future when I am back at home in Texas.

I stayed with Sven for 3 nights, and it was a wonderful cs experience. He was a fantastic host, very knowledgeable, always willing to help. He was always willing to provide information and fantastic tips. Staying with him was a complete pleasure; we had many conversations and I thoroughly appreciated all his fantastic help. Largely thanks to him, I saw Brussels in the best possible way. Again, his inside knowledge and willingness to share that knowledge were simply wonderful. He is a very smart person, and interesting as well.

Sven was great for conversation and couchsurfing information for the night we surfed with the same host in Braga. He struck me as intelligent, laidback, and friendly. Thanks for the advice and the company!

I hosted him in my house for one day. Sven is a cool guy, a pleasant person. I showed him around and we visited the most interesting places in Ourém.
He cooked a vegetarian dinner (which I had never tried before) and I found it very tasty.

Sven was here for just one night and part of the day, but it was enough to know the fantastic person he is! We spoke a lot about the world, vegetarianism, places, politics, etc. Nice moments when we had dinner and lunch! A city visit, a coffe, and words coming out with pleasure! The best for you!

Sven is a very nice, patient and kind guy. He just stay one day, but even so he was so kind to give me 2 boxes of wonderful Belgian chocolate: I was so admired by the number of people he received in his house; he is the true spirit of couchSurfing…

Sven stays in my couch for one night, the last night that he staid in Portugal.
I think Sven was already tired and unfortunately I was working at the same time that I tried to show him something about our culture in Pombal.

Karen and me stayed on his couch during our visit to Brussels and we were very pleased! Sven really lives the couch surfing idea and is very open-minded to new people. It was a very good experience, a really good start for me on the couch surfing project.

This is a nice guy to host; he can handle a conversation and really tries to practice what he’s been learning in Portuguese. It’s a petty that he had to leave on the next day.

Sven is very polite, respectful and with a lots of knowledge all about Europe traveling. It was cool to know him... for sure one day I'll be at Brussels and return the visit... see you there!

Hannes and I stayed at his place for 2 nights while visiting Brussels. Sven is a great guy, he really "lives" couch-surfing. Besides, he is sociable and takes good care of his guests. He also showed me his portuguese dictionary and some phrases. It was very nice and we had fun!

I surfed his couch with my friend martino just one night...he was really kind with us...although he brought us to the tramstops at 6 in the morning!!a very nice couchsurfing experience!!

We met in Delirium cafe in Brussels. The name of the cafe describes the state I was in after a few beers ;) It was really cool to meet some fellow Couchsurfers there and have a chat and a beer together! Hope to meet Sven at some other meetings!

Sven is probably the best host you can get in Brussels. He cooked for me, showed me around, offered me an Internet connection, a nice couch and we had some interesting talk and went out in local bars :) Thanks for everything and if you decide to come to Kosovo then let me know :) I'll hope to be able to host you in the same way as you did :)

He was really GREAT!!! was my first host and he show us his city and shared with us... Really was really great!!! :D :D :D

He gave us a tour around the city, lend me use his phone (with my own phone card) to call my family in Venezuela, and almost every question about the city had an answer from him. He is cool!

Big problem with eurolines pass conection so SOS couchsurfing in Brussel and message to Victoria in Belgum then she asked to Sven to help us and it was very positive meeting, he was lovely with us, nice person in the amazing travel! ;-)

Sven was the first person I stayed with through CS.com, and he couldn't have been a better introduction to the project! He was an incredibly generous, accommodating, informative host. sven is a really frendly guy!! I surfed his couch for 3 nights! he is a very interresting guy and his mind is very deep. He know a lot of things and he is perfect to cook vegetarian!! It is very important for him that his guests have a nice abidance! also he is very very activ on couch surfing!!

Sven hosted me on a very last minute request. I got to Brussels without a place to stay and Sven came to the rescue. Sven was my very first host from Couchsurfing. I stayed at his place in Brussels for 3 days. He is a very cool, easygoing guy and a no fuss host. He knows a lot about Belgium/Brussels/Traveling and can more then likely help you with anything you might need help with. I am 100% sure he is also a good guest.

I stayed at Svens home at the beginning of my interrail trip. It was really great. I made my cs request only one day before I arrived and this was no problem. He even invited me to lunch and in a bar in Brussels. Very good couchsurfer!

I stayed for only one night at Sven´s place, but that was enough to have a wonderful impression of him. He not only offered to pick me up, but also cooked a delicious meal, showed me great places around and took me to a CS meeting. I don't know Sven that much, but I can tell that He's almost always there when we gather. He never miss' an occasion to organize our regular meeting. The Brussels'group own him a lot. Thanks to him and the 2 other ambassadors, We've got a lot of occasion to gather, we got to know each other pretty well, which is a very good thing in the cs community. That makes many connections between us and let us have a good reputation on the international scene. Knowing everyone is helpfull when you need to dispach lost cs at last minutes.

Thanks to Sven on our national TV news I became a member of CS shortly after. I think Sven truly deserves to be called ambassador of CS for Brussels. Not only because of the huge number of people he's hosting at his home but also because of the time he invests in CS in a variety of ways like winter walk, meeting in pubs and parcs,... Not even being very sick stopped Sven from being a wonderful host! We shared some great meals and conversations over those couple of days! He is very insightful and a great chef! Some of my outlooks on life have evolved thanks to him... On my first day back in Paris, I tried to replicate the yummy endives dish, only with buckwheat, and discovered that this is also a great combination! Sven is a couch surfing machine who tells me he has hosted over 200 people in Brussels. That is good news because he is an excellent host for the city - he knows some great places to sample the famous Belgian beers, gives good tips for sightseeing and even has some maps and city guides on hand!

We had a very warm welcome and a pleasant stay. We learned a lot about the Belgium Beer Culture, Sven knows many interesting things and is a really good example for how a host should be :) Even vegetarian food is good, the way he prepared it! Prost und Mahlzeit!
