A CouchSurfing Collective is a group of people from all over the world working together and living in a cooperative environment with a goal of improving CouchSurfing. It has roots on the idea of self organizing organizations. We can create our projects, build our own teams.

There have been collectives in Montreal and Vienna and the latest was in New Zealand. See the official Collectives page on our website.

The Parisian crew built a proposal from September to November 2006 and is about to release it within the coming days. They also held a meeting on Saturday November 18th and have already started to gather a few volunteers as an Assistant Organization Team plus to get donations through a CS meeting, which has allowed to gather 195 euros already on November 21st. The NZ Collective also communicates with the Paris crew via conference calls.
