Mantis guide for CS bug reporters

As of October 2006 CouchSurfing is using a public Bug Tracker (BT), namely Mantis. Our own Bug Tracker is located at bugs.couchsurfing.com.

Getting access

At the moment you need to create a login to get access. Your email address will not be shown to anyone but the Mantis administrators. Note that the links on this page to the Bug Tracker only work if you are actually logged in to it.

Problems with login

For some reason, some members have reported that confirmation emails after creating an account occasionally get a bit lost. This seems to be a rare occurrence but does happen now and then. Please check your spam folder if you don't see a confirmation emails in your inbox after signing up.

Checking existing bugs

The first thing to do before reporting is checking if the bug is already reported: View Issues. On that page you can search, sort and filter bugs.

Editing existing bugs

If you found your bug, you can add Notes to it.

You can also keep yourself updated on what's happening to the bug by opening the bugreport and press "Monitor Issue". You can also set your notes to private (only developers can read them) if you want to give give some detailed examples so needed in debugging, and are worried about privacy issues.

Adding new bug

Report Issue using either simple reporting form or the advanced one.

  • If the bug concerns sensitive security or privacy issues
    • Set Category as security
    • On the bottom of the page set View Status as private
  • If the bug concerns areas of the site that are only available for ambassadors and admins
    • Set Category as amb
