Oviedo is the capital city of Asturias in northern Spain and has a population of approximately 223.617 people, 50 of they are CSers (august 2008). Oviedo is a small and calm city but with a lot of things to do, to visit, to taste, and to enjoy for really little money. Oviedo University's international campus attracts many foreign students from all over the globe.

Climate & Weather

Summers are mild, with lot of sunny days and winters are moderate with soft rains that we call orbayu. You can check the weather here and also view some webcams of the region.

Getting here

ASTURIAS AIRPORT (code IATA: OVD, code OACI: LEAS)

is placed in Ranon, 47 km from oviedo and has buses to oviedo every hour for €6,15 (august 2008).

Spain is not an easy country for hitchhiking, you can try it but remember it is forbidden in highways

Local transportation

Oviedo is a small city, and you can go walking everywhere, but if you are too lazy, take the urban bus. A one-journey ticket costs €0.90 (august 2008).

These buses work from 7:00 to 23:00 every ten minutes aprox (depends on the line) and in weekends and holidays there are special ones throughout the night, look for buhos in their web site.

Nightlife

All the night clubs are in the same area (more or less) and I think it is better to mark all the area in google maps than mark them one by one, because here in spain, usually people dont spend more than 30 min in each club, and in one night you'll have time for visit most places and decide which is the best for yourself.
