I disagree with this policy.

CS int'l is a non-profit organisation, therefore there shouldn't be any problem with adopting a Creative Commons license and reproducing, by attribution where necessary, other CC licensed content, even non-commercial content (since the purpose of this wiki is non-commercial.)

Reproduction of CC-licensed text and images is legal in any case, since that's what that license is for. The usage does not grant CS the copyright on that content, and attributing it to the source is what is required.

However, I don't see why there needs to be a strict copyright on the CS wiki for content that users upload or create. Are we worried about other people ripping off the content of the wiki? There is no real need for CS to take direct responsibility for all the content. I think there should be a CC license on this website.

I don't like the terms of the website in the first place. I set up this "policy" when I started this wiki because I didn't know who to ask and how to get everything available under a Creative Commons license. I was talking with Joe about this today. We'll include Casey in this discussion.
Also note that I changed my profile to include "I agree to multi-license my text contributions, unless otherwise stated, under the GFDL and the Creative Commons Attribution Share-Alike license version 1.0 or higher."
I'll start a discussion in the Brainstorm group right now. Please join... GuakaCS 01:04, 2 January 2007 (EST)

Under what licence is this wiki? How does & can the content interact with other sites? alex -212.5.205.171 05:55, 17 August 2006 (EST)

Hi Alex. We'll have to discuss that as a community. Of course I want it to be Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike, but I thought it would be unfair to put that through without any consensus. With the current license it will be easy to add more freeer licenses as well. Maybe I can sort of get the authority (as the Wiki Slave :) to give people the right to use content on other sides. Good. Fully agree. alex --85.125.151.59 15:56, 18 August 2006 (EST)
Add {{free-license}} to your user page. And always log in ;) Guaka 10:26, 12 September 2006 (EST)
