Software development needs for the new Ambassadors scheme

Contents

City Ambassador

  • Moderation of the city group -> multiple moderators
  • Possibility to handle the greetings both at a local AND a global level. That means:

Local Greetings are good for bringing in the touch the new members with their local Amb. Global Greetings are sweet and exciting. Can we have a process that will allow that every new will receive two greetings? One local and one global.

Country Ambassador

  • create the local Emergency List available for traveling members in your region (That can wait a bit as we still haven't got people to fill in these lists - probably this will start with the Ambs.)
  • Approval of meetings in their country (urgent)
  • can create city ambassadors in their country (with the authorisation of a global Amb).
  • Send the Renewal Email to all City Ambassadors every 3 months. Include a personal message and connect with them.

Global Ambassadors

  • can create city and country ambassadors (the last with the authorisation of an Admin)

Active or passive renewal

  • a page that lists what people are doing (of things that can be checked, such as meeting message approval, CUQs, group moderation, wiki edits). If there's enough activity there's probably already communication going on.

Application system

page where people could apply for the different levels and add why here this http://couchsurfing.com/volunteersignup.html makes sense then the sent request should appear on one page where the "request reason" and the requested level for all people who have not been approved yet get listed by country, date - with a button/option box beside each profile where those can get approved and as soon they are approved get removed from this list and appear on http://www2.couchsurfing.com/ambassador.html?show_all=1

Use the same procedure as for the contact us? Requests on a page like: http://www2.couchsurfing.com/contact.html collected at something like: http://www2.couchsurfing.com/amb_answer_contact.html

i think to have different button function for each level

  • city: 2 different responsible people must press da button (should get

recorded who made who)

  • country: 3 different responsible people must press da button (should get

recorded who made who)
