How to get to Terrassa

PUBLIC TRANSPORT FROM BARCELONA:

1). CERCANIAS RENFE TRAIN (timetables) If you want to come to Terrassa, the best way is to take a 'Cercanias' train (short distance trains) at 'Sants' or 'Plaza Catalunya' (main train stations in Barcelona city center, also possible in 'Arc de Triomf' and others) with destination 'Terrassa' or 'Manresa' (if you take the train destination 'Manresa' please ensure it is a 'Cercanias' train, then it stops at 'Terrassa' for sure). There is only one 'Cercanías RENFE' train stop in Terrassa, about 40 minutes after departing from 'Plaza Catalunya' or 'Sants' stations (it is right after Sabadell-Nord station, the next one is Terrassa!)

2). FGC TRAIN (timetables here or here) It is also a good option to take FGC trains, specially if you are going somewhere in the south or south-west of the city. There is only one station in Terrassa, called "Terrassa-Rambla".

The trip for both 'Cercanías' or 'FGC' trains take about 40 minutes. Through the window you can see more of Catalonia than Barcelona! If you have a Eurorail pass, you don't need to pay for the trip! If not, a single ticket approx costs 2.5 eur, a 10-trip card costs approx 18.50 eur.

3). BUS There are also buses, not very commonly used and hence not very recommended, but information about them is here [A4 (day bus) and N60 (night bus)]: A4 bus N60 bus

ROAD BY CAR:

From the A7 motorway, take the road "C-58" destination "Terrassa" or "Sabadell" or "Manresa". Depending on where in Terrassa you want to go, take exits 17 or 19 or 21. It can be difficult to find your way to the place you want to go, if you take the wrong exit, very recommendable to ask in advance some local what is the best exit to take and then you'll find it easily!

ROAD BY BIKE:

C-58 road is too dangerous for biking. Take alternative road N-150. Based on other bikers experience, say that it is not a bad idea to take a short-distance train until "Cerdanyola", from there, once you are out of the big city, you can start the bike ride following N-150.
