The War On Them will also be the name of a documentary about humankinds natural "Us Vs. Them" (Friend vs Foe) mentality. Thousands of years of human evolution implanted this idea into our brains of "Us vs Them" and how to differentiate between the two. While it may have been effective or even essential in the past (Friend vs Foe, Scientific American Mind, April 2005) today we live in a world in which many of our problems are global in their scope. Problems such as global warming, nuclear war, and highly interconnected economies, are showing us that our current way of discerning between the two is causing more harm than good. The question is whether or not we can move to a higher stage of evolution in time; one in which cooperation and communication with diverse cultures is the rule rather then the exception. To answer this question we will go around the world and collect footage for this documentary. It will focus on asking a wide range of people (think KKK members to Mormon missionaries) basic questions that will help us analyze the very nature of the "Us vs. Them" mentality itself. Our final hope is that by the end of our travels we can use the real world evidence that we found to offer up some solutions to our community.
