Petition for reinstatement of rights

Kasper (known as Guaka on this wiki and on Couchsurfing) has been and still is one of the most active contributors to the CS Wiki, with over 20% of the contributions. Because Couchsurfing has decided not to implement certain features and/or is not interested in things like Open Source, Kasper has decided to move some of the content he himself has created (!) to the OpenCouchSurfing.org wiki. Jim Stone did not like this and has banned Kasper indefinitely from editing the very Wiki Kasper himself has installed on the server! Jim did this without any attempt at a reasonable discussion, probably because he believes his new paid position gives him this right. It is an abuse of power, pure and simple. Please include yourself here if you disagree with this type of abuse:

Guaka is Kasper Souren, from October 2006 till February 2007 he was the Tech Team Coordinator of CouchSurfing. He stopped volunteering for CouchSurfing when chumminess appeared to be much more important than intelligence. See opencouchsurfing.org for more information.

He's also been the CouchSurfing Wiki Slave since he started the CouchSurfing Wiki on the 11th of August 2006. Together with Joe Edelman he is a key member of Joe and Kasper Consulting.


He's a Wikimaniac and administrator of many other wikis (such as the Hitchwiki and the Bambara Wikipedia). He has been in Europe, Mali, India, South America, North America and will be in New Zealand as of the 27th of October.

  • What happens to the information, of the wiki, contact information, when there is a problem bigger than the CS 2.0 Phoenix crash?
I think that some information should be released under a free license, such as the software of the site and the texts that have been written on the wiki. It should be possible for people to get own back-up of information (such as email, address) from the contacts that trust them (could be implied by a level of friendship, vouching, ...).
