High-altitude overnight stay by car
Hello to all Switzerland enthusiasts. Tomorrow I’m heading to Zermatt, near the Matterhorn, to hike the 5-Lakes Trail. After the hike, I’ll be looking for a place to spend the night of September 19–20 with my partner, Beata—ideally somewhere charming. Perhaps you know of any high-altitude parking spots where I could sleep in my car (an Audi A6 Avant) on a mattress? I was considering the Furka Pass, but I’m not sure if overnight stays are allowed there. Maybe you know of other scenic high-altitude parking areas near a lake? Thanks in advance for any tips!
New to Couch Surfing (Switzerland 27th Oct to 2nd Nov
Hi! I’m Manjula, new to Couchsurfing. 😊
I’ll be travelling solo and will be in Switzerland from 27 October to 2 November. I’m looking for a host and would love the opportunity to stay with a local and experience Geneva in a more authentic way.
I enjoy meeting people from different places, having meaningful conversations, sharing stories over a coffee or meal, and discovering a city through the eyes of someone who actually lives there. ✨
I’m respectful, easy-going and independent, and I’ll mostly be out exploring during the day. I’d also be happy to spend some time together if our schedules allow.
If you have a spare couch and feel we might get along, I’d love to hear from you. 😊
