CURRENT MISSION Drawing as many kinds of clouds as possible. ABOUT ME Looking for the human experience. I make things -- mostly paintings and drawings. When at home I spend a lot of time in my studio, libraries, and under fruit trees. I'm currently looking to get out of my little cave (Portland, OR) and fill my head with as much as I can manage.

Warum ich auf Couchsurfing bin
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING Setting sails for Europe this summer, looking to get a little deeper than just walking marble floors and people-watching from afar. Hoping to find other humans that want to talk with me, draw with me, drink with me, and put together a little venn diagram of our world views. When I return to Portland I look forward to meeting more of the world in my own city. COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE I'm new to this site, but I used to live in a sprawling warehouse where I'd awake to sleeping bags scattered around our "living room" (a loading dock). The sacks usually housed bands that were traveling through town and needed a place to crash. One sweet little sleeper was even snuggling his saxophone. (No, it was really a saxophone. No euphemism intended.) My own surfing has been pretty limited to friends of friends, but I'd like to break that bubble.

I helped to build an ice-castle on a mountaintop in Montana, complete with a moat of icicles and a functioning drawbridge. We tunneled into the belly of her, and slept in the snow-cave dungeon. It was surprisingly warm.
Lehren, Lernen, Teilen
I wish that I could be as absorbent as possible and learn anything that anyone wishes to teach me. (How to make a puppet out of cheeseburger wrapper?) I'd love to learn more languages; I only know some Spanish, very little German, and even less French. I'm happy to share my English, convoluted as it is. I can draw, and I can teach you how to draw.. or just encourage you to draw however you like. I'm computer savvy, and I know how to bake a cake or make a soup from whatever is on hand. Learning more about how to charm a seed into growing.

Dancing. Music. Brian Eno. 60's girl bands. The new disco. Dirt digging. Soccer. Movies. Everything Werner Herzog has ever made. Fellini. Star Trek. Attempting to understand theoretical physics, but ultimately surrendering to the impossibility of really "getting" String Theory. So.. cosmic wonder, I guess. Lots of dreamy stuff, but ultimately trying to keep it real.
