I think it is the easiest way to get to know not only the landscape and monuments of a country, but to learn the most about its culture and people. I won't be able to travel very often myself but I love the idea of hosting interesting people in my place, listen to their stories and show them some beautiful places around. I don't like if couchsurfers consider and treat my home as a free "hotel". I like the original idea of couch surfing as I mentioned already above.
