Seeding zest to smashing success, the Morrigan makes a spark in the field. Powerfully Exuberant. Extraordinarily laid-back. And not aware of any contradiction between the two. Abstract thinker. Lover of the deep (thought, sea, space). Affinity with mollusks. Adorer of cuttlefish. Subject to extreme passions for the world of ideas in art, science, culture. Straight-up nerd. Budding graphic novel enthusiast. Intentionally kind. Maker in the making. They call me "Captain."

Warum ich auf Couchsurfing bin
Couchsurfing is brilliant. The communities that spring up around it are amazing and open, and I aim to participate as well as create, both with the "crowd" that comes to events and in the heart that comes with surfing. I have surfed informally countless times (crashing at people's houses after CS events spur-of-the-moment) in addition to the formal times. I've met so many inspiring people and found soil to seed my own adventures. I love it.
Musik, Filme und Bücher
I just read: The Ocean at the End of the Lane (Neil Gaiman) I am reading: The Goldfinch (Donna Tartt) & Body World (Dash Shaw) I am juggling: various books on music, German, art, and physics I am watching: The Venture Brothers I am listening to: lots of icelandic pop.
Eine tolle Sache, die ich getan habe
I got out of Ohio.
Lehren, Lernen, Teilen
Learn by doing, watching, dreaming. I'm eagerly learning German and would be happy to exchange English for Deutsch. If you're into dancing or climbing or something artsy I'd be pretty eager to meet you and find dancing or climbing or artsy haunts and doings.
Was ich mit Hosts teilen kann
Geeky enthusiasm, basic forró dance steps, and American-style peanut butter Working with kids has taught me all sorts of fun projects for an afternoon.
Meine Interessen
List 1: hiking, climbing, dancing, biking, water immersion (I only dog-paddle), singing List 2: reading, writing, drawing, wroodling (doodling that combines writing and drawing), other forms of linguistic and visual art, musical art, culinary art, definitions of art, learning (my own, others'), teacherly-things, comparative physiology, cephalopods, QED, kombucha I like collecting past-times and cultivating old ones. Then again, "thinking" is a past-time for me, although one best accompanied with some means of transmission like pen-and-paper or audio recorder (although I might jump on the video bandwagon yet). I love to wander, in natural and city settings. When I'm not up a tree or vaulting over boulders my leisure looks suspiciously like studying, whether it's something abstract like geometry or philosophy or something crafty like ukulele and comic-making. I love to explore real and imagined worlds, and hope that my involvement in the CS community will help me explore the world of the real. :)
