I consider myself very lucky to make a living translating videogames, and how did that happen? Well, lemme tell ya. As a kid, my parents wouldn't let me have any kind of gaming console, Game Boy, PS1 or anything. Once, they found under my mattress a Game Boy Color with Yellow Pokémon a friend from school had lent me. They took it away for a month and he hated me forever since then. They meant well, I think they wanted to save me from the bad influence of videogames in order to become a doctor, a lawyer or something along those lines, so they enrolled me on English courses from a very young age to steer me in the direction of something more practical and useful for my future, like languages and culture. Boy, did that backfire.
