CURRENT MISSION doing interrail through eastern europe to get to know a part of my continent that I feel I know far to little about and that fascinates me at the same time ABOUT ME Moritz and I both spent an exchange year in Chile where we became very close friends. We got the chance to live in and learn to understand a completely different culture from the inside. I think this experience also taught me a lot about myself, my own culture and about interacting with other people. We still volunteer for our exchange organisation YFU (especially Moritz is very comitted). We like to have deep conversations or to tease each other, not being serious about anything.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING I hope to be able to look behind the scenery set up for turists by meeting people who will share their thoughts and their culture with me, so I can learn from them and maybe give them a chance to learn from me. That way we can both grow, remove stereotypes, share good moments and maybe even build up friendships... COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE I'm just starting to gain them.

music: jazz, reggae, latin, soul, funk, ska, (some intelligent hip hop)... books: animal farm by George Orwell, cannery row by John Steinbeck, house of the spirits by Isabelle Allende, der Steppenwolf by Hermann Hesse, poetry by Pablo Neruda movies: I like independent movies that are able to create a dense atmosphere, a piece of art in every setting or an individual, intelligent humor. like: films by Fatih Akin, match point by Woody Allen, Die Fetten Jahre sind Vorbei, etc.

The four weeks I recently spent in Uganda, participating in a house-building project for a youth centre belong to the most amazing and impacting experiences I have had so far. I had the chance to enter a world, entirely different from the one I had known until then and to tie close bonds to it's wonderful inhabitants.

traveling, intercultural understanding, dancing (especially salsa), reading and writing, music, art, drama, cooking for my friends, walking barefoot, having good conversations, etc.
