CURRENT MISSION I plan to walk 500 + miles through France, Spain and hopefully Portugal. ABOUT ME I am a mother of two. My children are grown and now it is my turn. I got the travel bug when my father took a job in Saudi Arabia when I was a teenager and have longed to travel ever since. I was able to visit many European countries when we were there but I was young so didn't enjoy them to the fullest. In 2006 I walked a 500 mile pilgrimage from France to the west coast of Spain. In 2009 I walked 200 miles from Portugal to Spain. In 2011 I house sat for 3 months in south Portugal and will house sit for 3 months in northern Spain this winter. PHILOSOPHY I learned a lot on the 2 month pilgrimage I did in 2006. I learned not to judge people because you have no idea what they are having to deal with, I learned that material possessions are sometimes much more of a burden and I have learned to lighten my load, I learned that all you really need is what you can carry on your back and even some of those things could be done without.

Pourquoi je suis sur Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING I am new to couch surfing so I am not exactly sure how I will participate yet. Time will tell. COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE This will be my first time couch surfing and look forward to the experience.
Musique, films et livres
I love movies that make me happy. I like light romantic comedies. Life is so hard sometimes that escaping with a little laughter is like a short vacation. I like classical music, it uplifts me but I like a lot of different kinds of music too. I love to read, mostly fiction unless it is a travel book
Une chose incroyable que j'ai faite
I guess the truly amazing thing I have seen was the kindness of strangers when were were in France and Spain. We saw beautiful views and buildings but the people were what stole my heart. They would give of their time if we were walking in the wrong direction, give of their fruit if they thought we were hungry, and best of all give their blessing for a good camino.

I am interested in hiking, sightseeing, museums, historical places, art, travel, learning new languages, reading, meeting people from other countries and learning about their culture.
