CURRENT MISSION To travel the world and see everything ABOUT ME My name is Barry and i am 27 years old. I grew up on a farm on the south east coast of South Australia. I was always going to be a farmer when i grew up, but then discovered city life when i left school. A 2 year city experience ended up turning into 6 years. My main job while living in the city was to make cars for General Motors on an assembly line. After a few years of doing that i decided that my life needed to take a new direction. That direction being on the other side of the world. In April 2005 i arrived in the UK on a working holiday visa and decided to live in Edinburgh for a short while. That short while soon turned into 2 years. What can i say, Edinburgh is a very nice city. From there i travelled to various countries around Europe. These countries include Germany,Denmark,Austria,Greece, Poland,Czech Republic,and Netherlands. One of my favourite countries would have to be Spain. My friend and i went to Pamplona for the The Running of the Bulls and had an awesome time there. The spanish people were so friendly there. I am now learning Spanish so the next time i go there i will hopefully be able to hold a good conversation with the locals. Other highlights include Oktoberfest in 05,St Patricks day in Dublin 06,Edinburgh Hogmanay 06, and Roskilde festival in Denmark. As you can probably guess i enjoy a good party. Summer time last year i worked in the greek isles doing PR for bars. That was a lot of fun. After a few months of sunshine,drinking and madness i thought my kidney needed a bit of a rest so i returned to a cold and very wet UK. In december 06 i flew back home for my twin brothers wedding,(best man duties) only to lose my girlfriend in the meantime. She decided to see someone else. I did make the right decision though and don't regret it at all. In December 07 i travelled to California to visit my brother and his wife who lived in the Nappa valley(wine region) which is not far from San Francisco. I spent Christmas with them and experienced my first all American Christmas. It was good to see them again as i had not seen the m in 2 years. The previous time i saw them was Christmas 05 when they came to visit me in Edinburgh. For some reason i don't get home sick at all. I guess i am quite busy doing things which takes my mind off it. PHILOSOPHY See as many countries and meet as many people as you can as you only live once. Enjoy life and the freedom that comes with it Be nice to people and they will be nice to you.
