I left South Africa on a three month trip up the East Coast of Africa in 2007... I'm still on that trip. But a decade (+) on the road has led me to more phenomenal people, places and adventures than I ever dreamed possible! I'm an easygoing life-lover who tries to pave my path with similarly minded people! I'm constantly challenging myself and often adapting the way that I travel (normally sailing, cycling, or hitchhiking) so I can continue learning, connecting and fully embracing life!

Por que estou no Couchsurfing
I travel to learn about new cultures, to acquire new skills, and to meet new people. Hostels are great, but they generally lead you to foreigners and away from the locals who are the gems foreign lands are built on. I generally travel alone (with my teddy of course - it's apparently not safe to travel alone) so that I am forced to interact with strangers and be 100% present wherever I am, not worrying about agendas or other people's plans. I joined couch surfing back in 2007, when I started travelling; but, so far, I have hardly used it because life's adventures have always sent a friendly smile or welcoming village to take me in and show me around their "back garden".

Uma Coisa Incrível Que Já Fiz
Yes I've cycled across countries and sailed around the world. I've survived a shipwreck, run ins with pirates and komodo dragons and been stuck for months at sea. But I think the most amazing thing I have ever done in my many years on the planet is fixing an engine with a clove of garlic.

I love to teach and have a plethora of things I've learned as I have explored the planet. To continue to learn you have to constantly teach. I look forward to sharing experiences and [life] lessons and skills with hosts!

I hope to share a love for travel and adventure with hosts. Yes I have many stories, I can pretend to cook, and I can clean your dishes :) - but I hope to share your neighbourhood and a little bit of your life to find out where you live and why! Hopefully we can share a bit of life, because the road has become my home!
Meus Interesses
The more I travel, the broader my interests become! I studied film and business and used to work in the music and entertainment industry, but every person I meet seems to have a new skill to teach me and so my love has grown for the ocean (sailing, diving, snorkeling, surfing...), for bicycles, for people (they are by far the best part of travelling), and for the outdoors. Life is an adventure and I want to explore it fully!
