COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE When I lived in DC, I hosted a number of couchsurfers along with my housemates, and participated in gatherings of locals in DC. I also surfed a couple couches on a trip once. Then I moved to Burundi, and was not very involved, but I'm hoping to be more active now.
