Everyone was settling and too tired to do anything, don't even talk about traveling ... 90% of Dubai's population is expat, so they moved countries, this makes it's much easier to meet like minded people. Dubai is also a perfect hub to travel. So even though I am working full time I manage to travel (personal) to around 10 countries each year, using long weekends or traveling to a few countries in a week. I know it's not the usual backpack style but on the other hand I love the overload of experiences in a short time. Over the years I also changed my travel style from sightseeing to connecting more with locals. I met so many cool people the last few years. In Singapore I even met up with an Instagram follower and in Kuwait I met a fellow blogger.
