I’m a sociologist working across academia and social research, with a particular focus on tourism, environmental issues, and marine studies. My work explores the complex relationships between people, places, cultures, and environments, with special attention to sustainability and the social dimensions of the sea. Beyond my academic interests, I’m passionate about traveling, discovering new places, and engaging with people from different cultural backgrounds. I see travel not simply as movement between places, but as an opportunity to learn, exchange perspectives, and build genuine human connections. Curiosity, openness, and a strong interest in how people experience the world are at the heart of both my research and the way I travel

Why I'm on Couchsurfing
I love learning about global cultures and connecting with fellow globetrotters. I’m fascinated by the different ways people live, communicate, celebrate, eat, and understand the world. Traveling gives me the chance to go beyond stereotypes, experience places through the people who inhabit them, and discover unexpected similarities across different cultures. I especially enjoy exchanging stories with other travelers and locals, because every encounter can open a new window onto the world. For me, being a globetrotter is ultimately about curiosity, cultural exchange, and genuine human connection
Music, Movies, and Books
CINEMA Bette Davis, for her intensity, intelligence, and extraordinary ability to portray complex and unconventional women. Anna Magnani, for her raw authenticity, emotional power, and unmistakably Roman humanity. Meryl Streep, for her versatility, precision, and seemingly effortless ability to disappear into every character she plays. MUSIC I have a particular passion for great vocalists. Mina, best Italian/European Vocalist for the astonishing freedom, power, and sophistication of her voice; Barbra Streisand, for her unique combination of vocal mastery, interpretation, and dramatic sensitivity; and Sarah Vaughan, for the warmth, depth, and incredible richness of her voice. What fascinates me most is not simply vocal technique, but the ability to turn a song into an emotional experience. BOOKS Social sciences are at the heart of my reading. I’m especially drawn to books that help us understand how societies work and change — how people construct identities, relationships, places, inequalities, cultures, and ways of living together. For me, reading social science is another way of traveling: through societies, ideas, and different ways of seeing the world.
One Amazing Thing I've Done
Watching monkeys in the Malaysian rainforest, seeing zebras roaming freely across the landscapes of South Africa, crossing the vast and silent deserts of Morocco, and experiencing the timeless beauty of the Bay of Naples from the sea. Each of these places has given me a different way of seeing the world and a story worth carrying home.
Teach, Learn, Share
I'm living in a little garret-apt in Napoli downtown (centro antico of Naples) close "Duomo" subway station. I can host 1 person (the maximum is 2 who can share the same couch-bed in the living room). When you contact me as host be sure to read my profile and make it clear that you have figured out my requests. There is nothing worse than a generic copy/paste message from somebody that hasn’t even bothered to take 5 minutes to read your profile. Remember to be kind with me. I am a volunteer and I am offering you a free hospitality. So, what can you offer to me? Stories, talks, parole parole…are lovely and they are one the reasons I love to host you but, please, if you ask me to dine or drink with you don't ask to me to pay my part or avoid to pay just your part. It's so rude for me and not fair especially with a Southern Italian host. The same applies if you decide to rinse the cup of tea you used (and that I gave you for free). If there are more cups in the sink, you need to rinse them all. This is a fair behavior. Thanks for understanding.
