CURRENT MISSION To develop international understanding leading to world peace. ABOUT ME I am a retired U.S. Navy Commander and currently work four ventures: My Technology Consulting business: NOVA Engineering & Consulting, International; Dealer for AMSOIL synthetic lubricants & filters; Booking Agent for the internationally known Hollywood pianist & composer, OKSANA; and manufacturer's representative for Elk Run Vineyards & Winery in Maryland, USA. Additionally I am a Past District Governor for Rotary International's 4-county District 6950 of 47 Rotary Clubs on Florida's Central Gulf Coast. PHILOSOPHY I believe that each of us should tread lightly on the Earth, do one thing to help leave the world a better place after we are gone, and help each other along the way.

我为什么使用Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING I am relatively new to couchsurfing (although not new to hosting guests). I have hosted a family of 5 from Canada, and a guest from Brazil, as well as numerous guests via Rotary International exchange programs. I have two (2) guest rooms at my home on Florida's Gulf Coast, am 10 minutes from Clearwater Beach (one of the top 10 beaches in the world), have a solar-heated, salt-water, textile-free, pool, a stocked wine cooler, and am an excellent cook! COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE Had a few personal experiences in college and while in the military in Japan and the Philippines. Had the pleasure of hosting a family of 5 from Canada in March 2008, for 4 days.(see their note below)

Cannot limit it to only one: Observed an underwater unidentified flying object while on ship patrol during Vietnam war. Been to Cheyenne Mountain Air Force Station's WW-III Command Center "city" inside the mountain. Worked with NASA astronauts. Climbed in the Ecuadoran Andes. Research & employment of marine mammals.

Everyone makes their mark on the planet; hopefully it is a better place after they are gone, and the marks - however lightly or heavily made - will benefit mankind and the biosphere. We can learn to tread more lightly upon Mother Earth - we can learn how to avoid the costs and destruction and suffering of war and conflict, but we must WANT to change.
