I am a hairy scientist who spent five years doing post-doctoral research at the University of Edinburgh in Chemistry. I also did science communication where I took colourful and exploding things to schools around Scotland and England to get kids excited about science. I still do those things but I'm now a full-time Chemistry teacher at a secondary school in Fife. I also organise traditional music youth projects (www.tintosummerschool.com), and I host a folk-orientated internet radio show. I am a fiddle player and singer, involved with Scottish traditional music. I play in a couple of ceilidh bands (Scottish dancing: www.offcentreceilidh.co.uk). I love cooking, gardening, Geocaching and being a "Weird Uncle" to my wee niece, Heidi.

我为什么使用Couchsurfing
I think my attitude to couch surfing is to experience new cultures by hosting and sharing my culture when people come to Scotland, and meeting locals to get an idea of what it's like to live in their country when I surf other people's couches! Many of my best experiences travelling have been through Couchsurfing. It's truly the best thing since sliced bread, and I can't sing its praises enough when I meet fellow travellers who haven't heard of it! I've also hosted some fab people, and try my best to be a superhost. Here's a little bit from my blog about couchsurfing from when I travelled with my then-wife: http://paulandcharlottesworldtravels.blogspot.com/p/couchsurfing.html

I like to meet people who are interested in stuff. I'm a musician and I'm keen to share out Scottish music, culture and food with whoever I can!
