What to say? I've been known to travel very far on my own dime to help protect the rights of humans I have very little in common with, on the surface. I give freely of myself. I seek connection with others. I've been blessed to cross paths with so many people from so many different places that I've nurtured real connections with. Connections that last. I'm your friend that shows up. I've lived a few lives: a musician, a painter, an entrepreneur, a teacher, a lawyer. Always a traveler and a seeker. I'm 3x Pfizered against Covid and am rarely serious outside of work. I'm taking a sabbatical, connecting with old friends and looking forward to making new ones. I'm purposely trying to go to new places, along with the distant, but familiar. I don't foresee requesting stays, but who knows? I'm saying yes to the unexpected.

I love authentic music: Fado, Rembetika, Flamenco, rock . . . almost anything done with real passion. Muhammad Ali is still my hero. Jorge Luis Borges, Walt Whitman, Qabbani, Dylan Thomas. I love the way that Vonnegut suggests that we step back and look at ourselves and others with fresh eyes. I grew up on Ken Kesey, Kerouac, Hemingway, and Conrad, then I mostly left them behind. Honestly, trying to list books I love would take days . . .

Watched 30,000 people dance from the stage at a rock festival (not performing); given fashion advice to a Hunger Games character because he randomly asked; floated beneath a Manta-Ray; ran with bulls; watched a meteor take almost two seconds to burn up as it lit up the Caribbean; seen the Milky Way with naked eyes from several places; been chased by a Jaguar (or was it an Anaconda?) in the Amazon.
