I’m Zara, a full-time traveler and digital nomad from Iran 🇮🇷, living and working remotely since May 2018. I travel slowly, stay long in each place, and try to really get to know local life. I’m not a tourist, and I often return to the same country more than once instead of rushing from place to place. I try to live mindfully, reduce waste wherever I can, and keep a regular yoga and meditation practice 🧘♀️🌱. PS: I have a gluten allergy, so please don’t be offended if I need to avoid gluten. PPS: I only accept friend requests from people I’ve met in person. PPPS: If you’re thinking of staying with me, please read the Home section as well 😊

我为什么使用Couchsurfing
For me, Couchsurfing is about connection and kindness. I love learning about both the differences and similarities between people—their stories, cultures, daily lives, and food—and seeing the world through their eyes 🌍💬🍲. Another important reason is giving back. I’ve received so much warmth and hospitality during my travels, and whenever I can, I’m happy to pass that on to others 🙏🏻.
我做过的一件令人惊叹的事
- Left my office job and chose a nomadic life (🏢 → 🎒🗺️), learning to live with less and trust the road. - Stayed in Sri Lanka 🇱🇰 for two years during Covid, turning an unexpected situation into a second home and a deeply grounding experience. - Volunteered in different countries, including teaching English to young monks and nuns in Myanmar 👩🏫🧘, working on a buffalo farm in Laos 🐃, helping in a bakery in Cambodia 🍞, and more.
我能与房东分享的
- Travel stories and experiences, if you feel like hearing them 😜 - Cooking Iranian food or desserts 😋 - Making (and teaching) friendship bracelets, simple macramé plant hangers, or more complex crochet patterns 🧶🎐 - Curious conversations and probably a few never-ending questions 🙊
