Let's go ice skating at the huge new LeFrak rink in Prospect Park. All skill levels are welcome, even first-timers. Admission is $9 and skate rentals are $6. This is the largest place to skate in New York City with two full rinks, which means you never have to stop skating because when they clean the ice in one, you can go to the other. It also has a beautiful view of the lake in Prospect Park.
The rink is at the LeFrak Center which is in the south east corner of the park just north of the entrance at Parkside and Ocean. The closest subway is the Q to Parkside or the B to Prospect Park. Here is a google map:
I’ll be at the tables by the cafe at 2:30pm so we can all meet up and there. Get your skates first, so we can head in together at 3:00. Look for me wearing this hat:
Well skate until 5:00 then go out to a nearby bar to socialize over food and drink, and maybe some games. It will be unlikely that our entire group will all be able to find a large table together, but it’s OK, we can stand and mingle. Be sure to bring ID if you want to drink.
Here’s some photos from past years:
This is a series of monthly meetups that will focus on different activities that can be done for free or low cost. There are so many amazing things to explore in this city, both for visitors and residents, so let's enjoy them together.
