About Me

to live a beautiful life

Grew up traveling around the world and recently quit my corporate job to get at it again! (Hooray!).

I guess my personal philosophy consists is how to respond to the many and confusing complexities that happen in life. All I really know is that people are the only thing that really matter at the end of the day--my mind explodes when I try to comprehend the rest.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I love people, they're the only thing that matter really. I would like to think that I participate by being a part of peoples lives and having them be a part of my life.

I've had plenty of friends who have couch surfed and found it awesome. Couchsurfing is always the best way to see a place and get to know a culture. Instead of being in a taxi looking out from my own mindset and cultural bias, I'm actually able to experience life with a person and hear their perspectives on everything. It changes my world view...which is exactly what I look for in travel.

Skiing is really what I live for. I can't get enough. Aside from that I love pretty much anything to do with the outdoors--cycling, hiking, backpacking, mountaineering, all 100% great.

Music, Movies, and Books

Josh Radin, Jack Johnson, Coldplay, even an occasional Glove is fantastic. Silence was one of my favorite books along with short stories by William Blake.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I tried to cross from Panama into Columbia via the Darien jungle once. The Darien jungle is a no-man's-land area mostly run by drug lords and paramilitary groups. It was fantastically adventurous with very high stakes. At one point the Panamanian military even gave us guns and told us to take pictures of them as they try to siege a rebel camp...probably one of the highlights of my life.

Teach, Learn, Share

I could definitely teach guitar. I'm a rather good teacher if I say so myself; and I've taught more than a few students casually.

Countries I’ve Visited

Australia, Austria, Costa Rica, France, Germany, Ghana, Ireland, Liechtenstein, Nepal, Panama, Philippines, Singapore, South Korea, Spain, Swaziland, Thailand

Countries I’ve Lived In

Canada, Japan, United Kingdom, United States
