CURRENT MISSION

my current mission at the moment is to work my 2 jobs for the next year and a half and save about $5K to start my journey around the country. :)

ABOUT ME

my name is Al. i love everything. i enjoy writing, painting, freestyle jamming, meeting new people, playing games, and hangin out. i am 22 years old and have decided that i should see as much as i can now before i get too old. i have a big diverse family thanks to divorced parents and 2 step-parents. i think i get the urge to travel from my parents, my mom is originally from CA and moved east and my dad has been around the world 3 times due to his time in the navy. they both have so many stories and things that they've shared with me and i have learned so much from. that is what i wish to do.

PHILOSOPHY

no regrets. live moment to moment and soak up everything you can. then, forget all you know. ignorance is bliss. i live to spread love and hope around the world. i want to experience everything. i want to meet everyone. i want to know what it is like in the shoes of an astronaut, i want to stop looking at pictures from others and create pictures of my own through my own eyes, i want to live freely and take advantage of my rights as an American.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

not sure how to yet. i guess for now i can offer travelers a place to stay for a night or two, but i live with 3 other people and it would have to be ok with them first.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

when i was growing up i didn't get along well with my mother and often had to find places to stay. having friends that were understanding of the situation was great and helped keep me stable. i hope i can offer the same hospitality to other surfers as i have received.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

it is always amazing to watch children grow up. with 3 little brothers and a little sister, i'd have to say the most amazing thing is seeing how fast they grow up and how even in their youth they can teach you new things everyday.

Teach, Learn, Share

i have learned that success is what you make of it. personally, i live to be happy and soak up every moment i can. also, learning to let things roll and knowing that every person is an individual with their own unique style and thoughts and ideas is very useful when meeting new people or getting along with others. furthermore, doing what you beleive is right, despite what the rest of society says, is ultimately the correct path to happiness and success. lately, i have been pondering the idea of why everyone wants to live the "fantasy life" consisting of marriage and kids and a nice house. most of these people i talk to that have this only complain about being "tied-down" or resticted. this is a free country, let's put the freedom back in free.
