make art and explore new cultures
I love being around people, old friends and new friends, they all have a place in my heart. I was born and raised in Calgary, I love the mountains and ocean but my favorite thing is the giant prairie sky.
When I'm home, a lot of my free-time is devoted to painting. I was renting an art studio in the industrial area of East Vancouver, it's like my messy, dingy, colourful, fantastical cave.
I try to maintain a pretty good balance between city living and getting out to the wilder parts of the land
As far as other philosophies go... that's a lot to tackle in a profile blurb!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I hosted almost non-stop a few summers ago in my hometown, it was the best experience. I wish I made a profile and started hosting years ago! Now that I've traveled with CS I have developed more of a perspective on how the site works to create amazing interactions and connections with people.
The people I've met through couchsurfing so far have been so excellent. I feel like I made some life long friends, and as a host I rediscovered how much fun my part of the world can be.
As a traveler I experience Mexico through the eyes and experience of locals, and effortlessly found a home in Guatemala-- including friends, favorite cafes, bars, an apartment and a school.
I'm very thankful for all my CS connections!
I'm a big fan of back yard campfires, camping in the Rocky Mountains, parties and pubs, visiting art galleries, painting, swimming, hiking and frequently enjoying some good beer and wine.
