About Me

Hey There! 🙋🏻‍♂️

My name is Abdullah, but you can call me Ab. I am new on this app (scroll down to see why) and I guess it will be fun :)

I was born and raised in Cairo, Egypt. I’ve been living in the US for few years now (mainly in Maryland).

I have a BA from Egypt in Hebrew linguistics and Jewish studies (Yes! lol) and MA in teaching Hebrew as a second language from Middlebury College, Vermont. Sometimes I wish if I studied Computer Science or Nursing instead :)

I worked as a teacher, translator and IT professional. Currently I am in a break to explore the county a little bit since I was too busy working and studying the last two years.

Feel free to ask me any question!

Peace ☮️🕊

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I have been working and studying hard the last two years and I only visited few states on the East Coast. My plan is to visit ALL 50 states without going bankrupt 🙄

Interests

I am opened to anything and easily excited by too many topics! I enjoy outdoor activities and visiting new places.

  • books
  • languages
  • nature
  • conversation
  • helping others

Music, Movies, and Books

Let's pick the first of each that come to my mind right now otherwise it will be too hard! The Shawshank Redemption for a movie, The Forgotten 500 for a book, Dream On by Aerosmith for a song!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I served in the US army, even though it was only few month because I got separated due to a small fracture while in field training-which completely healed later- despite that I am still very proud that I once wore the army uniform. (You can see it in my profile pictures).

Teach, Learn, Share

I can share my rich knowledge of multiculturalism and teach you Arabic / Hebrew or both :) I'm always looking to share as much as I can about everything I know. Sharing stuff for me is fulfilling. What's even more fulfilling is the idea of being able to help someone with something important in their lives. That would give that friendship a greater meaning.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I would be so glad if you accept a humble souvenir that reflects Egypt. I keep my space very clean and I’ll help with tasks around the house.

Countries I’ve Visited

Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Turkey
