About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To succeed in my education, live life to the fullest, spread logic and creativity to everyone I meet, and finally, to build a more beautiful, sustainable future.

ABOUT ME

I am approaching my senior year at Utah State University, a student of Landscape Architecture. I grew up in Salt Lake City with a love of the mountains and the environment. My interest in architecture and sustainability came late in my high school career as my interest in computer graphics and graphic design became apparent. I love work for what I want, and endeavor to make an impact on the people around me through spreading my ideas, philosophy's and experiences. I endevour to do my part to preserve what I can, and through Landscape Architecture, hope to build a future grounded in beauty and sustainability. I love meeting and learning from people, I'm a workaholic when it comes to school, but am constantly working to get out of the design studio as much as possible.

PHILOSOPHY

I could probably type forever on the subject. I was raised very religious, and during my high school experience found that I was not at all grounded in those beliefs. I became an athiest, that keeps an open mind about others beliefs and seeks to support and spread scientifically grounded findings and theories. I love the earth on which we live and if I can't save it, I will endevour to do my part to preserve what I can, and through Landscape Architecture, hope to build a future grounded in beauty and sustainability. I love meeting and learning from people, I'm a workaholic when it comes to school, but am constantly working to get out of the design studio as much as possible.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have limited couch surfing experience. Many trips I have taken have involved driving with a very loose agenda, and then spending nights camping. These trips with limited agendas allow for more opportunities to meet new and interesting people, and experience a particular area or city from a locals point of view.

Music, Movies, and Books

I'm a fan of almost all genera of music, I'll cycle through my pandora stations daily. I love quality movies, ones that make me think and inspire me to live better (movies like cloud atlas) and the entertaining movies, usually sci-fi based (Star trek, Oblivion). I also tend to lean towards unique and intense independent films. I read almost exclusively science fiction novels, when I have time, I will usually resort to audible because of my limited free time during school semesters.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I once saw a mountain lion while camping along on a mountain ridge. It followed me all the way back to the trail. I'll never forget that, a park ranger of 35 years told me how unique that was, he had never seen one his entire career, and stated that he may never in the wild. I've one some awards, but mostly done a lot of camping and exploring in the Utah back country, as well as rock climbing in southern Utah.

Teach, Learn, Share

I have an extensive knowledge of Archaeology and archaeological techniques (I almost minored in this), as well as wilderness survival, Landscape architecture, graphic design, and computer design software.
